Leipzig wanted him on loan back during the summer of 2020 but we turned them down so they had been interested in him for a while.

Got to remember, there was a time that he was hyped up to hell and we fought off EPL interest and gave him a huge contract in terms of money for a youth player. He's not a bad Talent but when you compare him to the likes of Gavi, Nico and Pedri who are around his age he's just severely lacking at the moment.

But there were also rumors from the german press saying Leipzig's coaches didn't really like his attitude in training and wasn't being a total team player with the rest of the group. Have to believe the kid got too big-headed too quickly and his Agents and dad took advantage of that without looking out for the best interests in his development.

The kid had it pretty good here, he was trusted by the coaches and got to play every match as a Sub or even starter here and there. He was in much better position here than he currently is now.
