The idea was always to promote Nico, but Gavi wouldn't have got his breakthrough had Ilaix stayed around. Not under Koeman anyways.

All worked out well in the end. Ilaix may very well turn things around in a few years, or may end another Sunny Sunday. Not our problem and now we got a superior talent without any overbooking. Perfect.

But I think this loan will do him well and somewhat recover his high rating of a year past.
