It shows patience pays off. It's not all been smooth sailing for Gundogan at City, he's in unbelievable form right now. Playing further forward has unleashed him.

Pep's City in wonderful form, more impressive when you consider their injuries & lack of a proper striker. Also coincides with the impressive emergence of Foden as an elite attacking midfielder - he's been talked about for a few seasons but not properly coming into his own and out of the shadow of DSilva

Interestingly enough, I find a world class talent like Sterling less impressive of late yet City still keep pounding opponents

Foden is a midfielder, I said nothing about where he is playing in Pep's formation - of course they are using a false 9 since they do not play with a proper striker now. This is Pep football, effectively playing with ball carrying midfielders all over the pitch

Ultimately he is being used much like how David Silva was
