He would leave for free easily if we paid him the salary we owe him from the deferrals.
Which is something he's completely entitled to, even if the club want to make it sound like he's leeching off them.

He is not entitled to it, legally at least

When he signed a new contract with the criminal back in 2020, his new annual wages were redefined for each season until 2026.
People confuse deferrals with new contracts.
Technically there is no deferral there, I have explained it a few pages back.

He is entitled to it legally in his contract he currently has.

From there it is his decision if leaves and under what conditions.

There is no confusion.

If he leaves for free in the contract he currently has, there has to be a mutual agreement.

And of course the club is not stupid to BOTH give him letter of freedom AND his wages until '26

He has to pick one of the two

PS: On the other hand, if he gets a transfer the club can agree to give him the transfer fee received as compensation, and owe him nothing more

Yes indeed there would have to be an agreement but as it stands he has the power to get those wages or not.

No one is claiming he would get all his wages.. there would be zero chance club would ever do that. It would be completely illogical.

The reality is they want to renew him and realise how important he is within the team.

From whatever is leaked, it is clear he wants to fleece the club up the last penny until 2026, and then leave for free to fleece some other club.

Compare that to Gundo's stance

Haha no.. as said.. he would go for free or at least taking the 'deferred salary'. they have never offered that and never will.

They want him to renew.

Gundo is too good to be wasting his time in a club with such board and team like the current one we have. He will help City win another CL and ELP title this season.

According to Laporta him and Olmo had the same profile and Gundogan had no clear role in the team anymore, so he left.

If that is true it's the first time in years anything makes sense. I was very clear, if Olmo arives, Gundogan needs to go.
The clowns were absolutely losing their minds over Gundogan leaving. The new Coutinho was at least a man of honor.
Also, if you buy Nico, you need to sell Raphinha. That is clear as daylight.

Clusterfucking players every damn year because some kids on youtube promote them or mundo hypes them is what made us bankrupt. They also tend to blame the board after their hypes flop.

Yes but I would keep raphinha for depth and offload Ferran instead.

Yes Gundogan left Barca because he was worried about playing time.
..and joined City of all teams lmao.

Even Gundo himself explained the reasons.

Yeah, because players always tell the truth...It sounds better when you tell you left to help the club and not, because you didn't want to be benched by some teenage boys.
There is a big difference sitting on the bench for City full of world class players, winning cups and for Barca because of some 17 year olds´boys. He feels at home in City, he didn't in Barcelona. I've never read about him finding friends, or loving the City life there. He said he even missed the fuckin weather there. You have to accept not everyone loves the sunny life in Barcelona, some prefer the rainy grey days in Manchester.
Players accept the bench if everything else apart from playing time is good for them. For Gündogan it obviously wasnt. Flick had a talk with him and they most certainly didn't discuss the weather. So he decided to leave.
His choice was obvious. City was the only club apart from the Saudis probably willing to pay his wages, only because Pep loves him and he knows everything there. He won't be playing for much longer on this level, so he didn't want to get through the trouble finding a new home again for 1-2 years.

Long story short, he left because the person he came for in the first place Xavi isn't there anymore and Flick planned to use him for rotations, not as an undisputed starter anymore.

You're welcome
Remember we speculated about who Gundo was referring to “not using his brain” when talking to Guler?

Later realized could have been Roque who kept losing ball.

There are probably multiple reasons. Of course I don't doubt he'd stay if Flick told him he'd 100% be a starter. Now in hindsight with all our injuries he'd be a starter until at least Christmas.

IIRC he loved the life in Barcelona. I don't think he'd have minded having a rotational role here. It's not like it cost him a lot to leave, he joins a club and manager he knows, salary is the same and he helps out a club he likes but doesn't have a very big attachment to.
