Inter is indeed a great club to damage a youngster's confidence and shred his career into pieces. That's a sad truth about Inter and those people running this club. This tradition must change if Thohir wants to improve something about his new club. He should start something like Dortmund did. The core of this team needs to be built around the young players and all the aged deadwoods must be offloaded.

Not as much as he doesn't get enough playing time when he's match fit . Most of his off-field issues happened when he was injured).

They had no competition in Serie A or Coppa Italia...hell even a shitty Roma team gave them a run for their money til the end. As for CL, while they had a pretty good team they required a ton of luck and dodgy refereeing decisions to win it.

Sure they got a man sent off perhaps unfairly, Milito's so damn clear offside goal in the first leg and Bojan's last minute goal wrongly disallowed.... Theyy did get some help. That being said, no team wins CL without having some luck on their side though....

Inter did get a lot of decisions in those two legs -

In Italy -
Inter goal wrongly allowed when offside
Stone wall penalty denied on Alves

In Barcelona -
Goal wrongly disallowed for hand ball
Two penalty decisions not given to Barca

People just never seem to remember them in the same way if they are given against Barca.
