Yeah me too, I thought he was way more talented than Tello, it's a shame what can happen in such little time if you have so many injuries.

Same here... He might not have the pace of Tello, but his technique is far better. Probably even better than Pedro!!

Would love to see him play again. He does not the pace of Tello but he was some exquisite moves that are unorthodox but work very well.
He could be a very interesting player if he gets rid of injuries.

Because he hasn't got a lot of pace I think he would be better in a 10 role. He can use both feet and has good vision.

It's a shame. I want him to get in to the fight and compete for a place. This kid got what it takes.

Really ?

What does he offer us though ?

Plenty of jinking runs down the wing then constantly cutting back on himself to make a "backwards " pass ....

Doesn't score , hardly assists .... just not gonna reach the high level we require IMHO

Apparently these are his Barca stats ?

Appearances / goals / assists
30 / 4 / 5

Hardly outstanding , not brilliant at closing down , he can't defend , useless in the air etc

Sure, he's a nice kid ,probably too nice , who's come through the ranks and so everyone loves him ala little Bojan .

Maybe I am delusional as well but I never really liked him for the same kinda reasons Zincubus mentioned. Tello offered something different, in my opinion Cuenca offered more of the same with less quality than our wingers then. He missed out on crucial playing time last few seasons and I guess it's time for him to move on after his recovery. Look at Giovanni Dos Santos, he is becoming better and better.

Sometimes it is better to seal a place in the starting XI at a smaller club than waiting for a small chance at a huge club. He will get better by playing, not by training here. Hope he recovers well and wish him all the best, but absolutely don't see a future for him here. Hope I'm wrong, though.

He keeps the fullback wide. Allowing much more space just within the corner of box. = Alvez can cut inside instead of running down the line as a surprise tactic, xavi can make those runs as he plays to the right side of the pitch and more importantly it gives messi extra space in his favourite area(on his left foot too)

If thats enough reason for him to stay. We don't necessarily have to play alexis in similar role all the time. He can be much more lethal other wise.

The kid has it. Believe it or not. Its just that he is not that crowd favourite type of a player and will stay under rated for rest of his life. Very much like Valencia and victor moses's case. Doesn't either has bend it like beckam freekick in his locker to make him popular on this forum atleast.
