Some great passes along with his usual defensive work. Deserved his reward by scoring that goal after great Neymar action.

Some of his best passes are those line drive switch field crosses- hard fast accurate balls with minimal loft that end right on Neymar/Alba's feet. Really gives the receiving player so much more time to get in at the defenders before they can adjust.

Not gonna lie; I felt sorry seeing him being taken off last night. Given how much he's been rotated of late I thought Lucho could have given him the full 90 minutes.

For us fans though, it's a great problem to have, meaning Raki, Arda and Sergi will all be well rested for the remainder of the season. That now goes for Alves and Vidal as well. We looked a little spent after the Club World Cup, but now the lads are all looking re-energized again, and the bench is looking much much stronger.

Laces have always had an effect on how players pass and shoot. The presence of an additional and variable barrier between foot and ball can make it difficult to fine-control the power and accuracy of a shot or pass.

But not any more, with adidas launching the new Ace16+ Purecontrol boot this week, a boot which all but negates the impact of laces - by removing them altogether.

"These boots are really comfortable - adidas have done it!" Barcelona and Croatia midfielder Ivan Rakitic, who will wear the Ace16+ Purecontrol from January 23, told Goal.

"Comfort is the most important thing for me. I like to wear the same pair of boots until they're broken but these are already really comfortable and I'll wear them until they get really old.
The new boot has been in development since 2014 with the prototype revealed late in 2015 and the finished version tested in adidas laboratories and at grassroots level in Sweden.

But now they will hit professional pitches, with Rakitic joined by Arsenal star Mesut Ozil in wearing the Ace16+ Purecontrol from this coming weekend.

I knew that would be a trend soon. I remember they teased us last year but* these laceless boots are finally out. I wonder if they'll feel tight enough to your foot because there's nothing worse than playing football with loose fitting football boots, but the concept is very interesting. I'd try them out.

Barçapocalypse NOW!
The thing is that pro players most likely will have them custom made to fit them...

For me it's hard to find boots because I have skinny feet, so I've been holding on to my old CTR360 because Magistas and Adidas in general are too tall for me...
