Ivan Rakitić

Has become fundamentally important to the way we play. If i'm honest, I wasn't totally convinced when we signed him. Now, I think we'd really struggle without him.

Watching it back, and his assist for Messi's first goal was world-class. Awareness and composure in a crowded area, ball came in at him unexpectedly, but he redirected into Messi when surrounded by Valencia bodies. Made it look easy, with his weaker foot as well.

Rakitics stronger foot is Right

He is very good with his left too though

I never fact checked but watching him play for Schalke and Croatia i always got the impresion he was a leftie ...

Now his always back passing and giving up the ball to Roberto and Alves before doesnt make sense. He barely makes a cross in the 16y....?

And finally yes he SHOULD have made that goal. :D

Played very good as DM but people still prefer to talk about a new shiny car that doesnt even go.

Agree with you but I prefer him at CM. If we use him as DM we'll lose some of his biggest strengths. He trully is a great alround midfielder.

For the last 2-3 games he's been using some super shiny boots. So easy to see from the stands, surely someone will get temporary blindness from it sooner rather than later

He shouldn't have get substituted ! We literally lost the midfield to City when Arda came in ( Thanks to his laziness )

Lol.. The midfield didn't change at all after he got subbed out, it was like that since they got the goal. What is more worrying is the lack of an impact sub.

Should not have been subbed out. We were far more direct with him on the pitch. Arda was the death blow.
