Rakitic has a lot of fans local and everywhere.

I mean nice guy and all but a lot of these guys simply like to ignore the fact he has been awful bar a few good games here and there for a long time now. they will simply deflect and say "Well Iniesta looked bad and it doesn't help that he has to guard the RW for our RB to go forward etc"

He simply not good enough anymore to be a starter for us and it's ridiculous that the board and the coaches keep thinking he's somehow still good enough to be a starter.

Roberto has many flaws but I would still rather see him than Rakitic, he just isnt agile enough, he neither can be replacement for Busquets too, things are looking very bad for him, hope he gets benched and earns his place through blood. He has never been good enough as a Barca starter.

One year where he plugged a gap to allow Alves and Messi to attack was a role many average players could have done but he did it well enough.

In reality back then it was Alves and Messi stopping his deficiencies getting exposed not the other way round.

These days he just plays like Gomes last season and plays it overly safe. Strange thing is he almost seems to play with a bit of arrogance as if playing well.

Absolutely horrible match by any measurement, and the fact that he played the full 90 minutes was a very puzzling move by Valverde.
