Lol, and he wasn't under any pressure. This error happened because he didn't inform himself where he was and were the opponent were. If he did that, he would had known that he had enough time to turn around and find a much better follow-up.

Brilliant awareness from Rakitic to find the open pass

Gomes would be proud.

LOL Busi had a ton of similar mistakes during last season why don't you pull that out also? Arthur lost ball 2 times 30 meters from our goal against Inter? Where are those??? You are just pathetic. Basically the only player you are shitting on 24/7 is Rakitic. Well done! You deserve a medal for that.

block me because it seems you get triggered by any rakitic criticism

Any? I would bet my left nut, that you are personally responsible for at least few 100 s of those in this very thread.

While you are obviously entitled to them, you can t blame occasional rational spectator for noticing your stupid hate-fanism and calling you a dickhead.

He really should get a review course from the great man

Rakitic has always had that issue where his first instinct is when he gets the ball facing goal is to pass it back immediately or sideways to the nearest player and instead of calmly controlling it especially when he's not under pressure.

One of Arthur's main strengths in that role is to receive the ball calmly and not immediately just boot it instantly. and to be fair in Rakitic's case it seemed Valverde was trying to get him to fill that role Arthur usually does and he's not the same style of player Arthur is.

Seems like we really need another CM in the vein of Arthur in the squad I guess.

De Jong fits the bill plus he's adaptable,

In the meantime why not play Coutinho and Arthur backed up with Busqs

Lol I find it so funny when people like you try to compare BUSQUETS, a legend, a genius, one of the DM GOATs, a guy who’s been great for us for the last 10 years and who belongs to the same category of players as Xavi and Iniesta... with Rakitic who’s biggest achievement in this club was being a water carrier in the only full successful season we had post Guardiola. It worked that year cause he had another GOAT named Dani Alves, who did all the creative work on that right flank. Basically did Rakitic’s job.

Busquets is the undisputed starting DM of 2 of the greatest teams ever (Barca 2008-2012 and Spain 2009-2012). And he still is to this day the best DM in the world. So it’s okay for a legend like that to have 30 bad games out of 500.

What’s even funnier is when you compare Rakitic a 30 years old dude who’s been gifted a starting spot at Barca since 2014 with Arthur a 20 years old lad who came from Brazil 2 months ago. That’s very telling about how bad Raki is for a long time Barca starter.

Rakitic isn’t good at defending, he isn’t good at creating and he isn’t good at attacking. You don’t believe me ? If you can’t see it by yourself during Barca games, then check the statistics.

Duels won by our midfielders against PSV:

Busquets : 14/18
Vidal : 14/20
Rakitic : 1/4

Not only is he bad at defending, he doesn’t even try anymore. The dude is simply hiding on the pitch !

If Vidal can keep playing at a high level without fucking up his knee then Rakitic should be sold upcoming summer. Vidal can then add the energy defensively which Rakitic is supposed to provide. Barca can afford both de Ligt and de Jong/Ndombele + a new #9 if they cash in. Help renew and strengthen their squad. They have to sell someone and Rakitic is easily the best candidate that will fetch the most money without the level of the team dropping considerably if Vidal is able to replicate his role.

He's also becoming annoying as fuck lately with his constant interviews where he's almost begging for a pay raise and going out of his way rooting for Valverde to get renewed because he gets a free pass from him. He's way too comfortable right now, but unlike with Pique no one want to mention it.

I agree.

Prime Vidal is miles better than prime Rakitic. At this moment, they’re both past their prime and none of them should start for Barca. But Rakitic should have been sold last summer because we probably won’t receive another 90m offer for him in 2019.

Plus we need new blood in that dying midfield and with the undisputed starter status that Rakitic undeservedly got, the easiest way to get him out of the starting 11 is to sell him.

I would have taken the 100 Million for him.

He did a good job at what he did best during his time here. But for me, he was one of those guys that I never saw as non-expendable. He's 30 years old soon to be 31 next year and he's losing what made him a good asset as time goes on.

Just hard watching him and Busi these days as they struggle to do what they use to be able to do a couple of years ago.
