Disgusting. Him and the weasel know their position is safe and every new midfielder that gets brought in will have to compete against Vidal/Arthur/Alena for that remaining spot.

I'm sure De Jong and our other midfield recruits are just quaking in their boots at the prospect of having to beat out the formidable, world-renowned, fearsome duo of Carles Alena and Riqui Puig for a spot. Don't forget about that washed up thug Vidal and fat shite, forever injured backpass maestro Arthur!

How will they ever cope!

If De Jong can't earn a spot against the aforementioned names then he has no business being at the club.

The "washed up thug" Has been twice the player compared to Rakitic and Busi combined.

Sure, but Raki and Busi are legends of the club that have won everything there is to win in club football, have been consistent starters for years now under multiple managers and are massive voices in the present day Barcelona locker room. Not to mention they're both still very good players despite their age and decline over the years.

Such players cannot be thrown to the curb on a whim because some members on BarcaForum don't like their style of play. They will gradually be phased out with dignity and adoration from the fans. We are not Real Madrid, for better or for worse.

This is Vidal's first season at the club and he will need to prove that he belongs and understandably won't have the same long leash the established veterans do. Time is running out for him at 32 years of age and he doesn't look like anything more than a very good bench player at this point in his career. If he had joined us at 25 his story could be completely different.

Seems like United wants to lift that burden from us.

Not sure as to their motivations, like they haven‘t enough shit going in their club already. But who cares.

I think Rakitic would be a useful player to have in the squad still, but as a starter absolutely not. He is a passenger in many games now , granted Busquets has been awful at times too.

Something needs to change in Europe, I don't expect to win the Champions League every season. I've been following Barca since 98' and there has been many highs and lows. However we have been getting steamrollered the last 3 years (granted the Bayern 4-0 in 2012) too. But Busquets and Rakitic just do not work together anymore at the top,top level.

There is losing games with fight and there is being humiliated which is unfortunately happening more frequently these days. The core players are comfortable, they are not terrible of course but when you've been humbled emotions run high for weeks after and fans opinions will too.

Barca doesn't need a huge overhaul, but what it does need is a refresh and changing here and there like you mentioned with players being phased out, we can't repeat the same things each year and expect something to change, it won't.

It s not on a whim, it s necessary and obvious. Also, being thrown out is one thing, being sold to a high level club is another.

Both in the same midfield are a liability. At least on of Raki-Busi has to be sold, due to tactical and financial reasons. Valverde is not the coach who is going to phase out his favorite players.

Personally i would sell both. Not just because of above mentioned reasons, but i also don t like, that there is a cast of players, who has a voice in how club should be managed. These two are both part of that group.

Fuck off, you pos.
I would sell him for 1m if that means he gets the fuck out of this club. Him and Valverde.

He really thinks that its up to him on whether he gets to stay or not. Lol. He's leaving and there's nothing he can do about it.

So what? That was in the past and has no bearing on the here and now. They are both liabilities and should be sold for the good of the team.
Football isn't about sentiment and teams evolve over time. We should be phasing out the senior players, but we stick with a moron for a coach and an ageing squad. The very definition of insanity.
