If a tall aerial striker is required then I'd rather Llorente who knows the league, done the job for Spurs and is free. Zukic is too expensive for a plan B player.

And to think this fucker wanted a contract extension and a pay rise under a year ago, even though he's already having a deal of a (his) lifetime with the existing contract. If he'd gotten that extension, we would've been stuck with him forever, he would've mooched of us until he was 35 or 36, so well into the next Board's reign, cause i'm positive he would've just flat out refused to leave. The definition of a leech. He's probably looking at his wife on our bench and thinks, if this fucker can survive two biggest CL bottle jobs in the history of the club, i can survive anything. So EV's behaviour not only hurts us for the obvious reasons, but is also sending the wrong message to our oldies, who are starting to treat this club as one last pay check and a sweet beachy retirement home (can't blame them on that, considering the climate really makes it an ideal place to kick back and enjoy) rather than a place where you need to be on the highest of your standards to consistently get into the team and defend this club's colors. Rakitic's extension would've been exactly like Arda's story. He would've downgraded heavily pretty much right away and we'd end up loaning him around until he would become a free agent in 2023 or even 2024.
Anyway, at least this way his story with this club ends one way or the other, along with this Board in 2021. That year should spell the end for many of our oldies, firstly Suarez and Vidal. I would like to see our home grown boys Pique, Busquets and Alba pretty much hang it up around that time too, time for a new Board and the real rebuilding phase to begin, with Messi being the only 30+ year old to stay, cause he actually deserves to stay here as long as he feels he can cut it, and with his creativity being what it is, I could actually see him being good enough at least until he's 35 or 36 years old, obviously on much smaller wages by that time too (also maybe getting demoted to just (honorary) 3rd or 4th captain by that time too, as he wouldn't be playing every game anyway), if he extends one or two times until then. And to be honest he seems like the kind of guy who knows when he won't be the same anymore and will probably leave back to Newells at that point, as he confirmed many times that he'd like to do that before hanging it up.
Anyway, in 2021 I would like us to start fresh, give the captain's arm band to Ter Stegen and bring in some new blood. As far as promotion goes, give it to the likes of Oriol (if he's still here, which i doubt it), Abel, Riqui (if he's not promoted by that time, which I could actually see happening with this Board and Valverde too likely staying until 2021), maybe the likes of Fati too, providing they of course stay on course and keep developing good until then.

I really dont get this Rakitic hate , if you dont think hes good enough fair enough but you guys get mad at him for weird reasons aswell like him loving Barca and rather never leaving or him wanting to renew or even that interview where he was asked how he felt bout De Jong coming in for his spot and he answers "mine is taken" and "he has played in a different position" (which is completely true)
I mean if FdJ said those things , bout him never wanting to leave Barca and saying with confidence that his spots is taken you would applaud it but because its "evil" Rakitic its seen as something bad.
The main culprit for those who dislike Rakitic in the team should be Valverde the 1 who keeps playing him.

The 2014/15 Rakitic and this current Rakitic are like two entirely different players now.
The Limitations were always there but made up for it in being a proper Support Midfielder. Now? he's gotten much slower, his movement on and off the ball is much worse and due to that he slows the play down too much and isn't the workhorse he was. He's basically just a DM at this point and not a CM the way he used to be.
There lies the problem with Rakitic, is there anything he can do still that still makes you think "Wow this guy should be a starter!" the answer is no not in the slightest. We have players that are far more comfortable on the ball than he is and we have guys who clearly have more work rate and energy than he does these days.
He's a player that was once very useful but his declining abilities are making him more and more redundant as time goes on as we bring in CMs/DMs who can offer much more to us.

Rakitic was never a generational Midfielder like his fellow countryman Modric and fellow teammate Busi, but he was still good in his own way even if he wasn't your standard Barcelona style CM like Xavi and Iniesta.
But the cruel reality is once his best attributes started to decline you have to wonder as I said above, is it still worth it for him to be playing nearly 50+ games a season as a bonafide starter? the answer for me like Busi is not really, especially if you actually have other Midfielders who are younger who have better attributes than someone like Busi and Rakitic.
Rakitic-Busi pair is going the way of any other solid Midfield pairing we had, father time gets to them and they both no longer can function as together or individually as they use to. Both are 31 years old but they have so much milage on their legs, they might as well be 40 years old.
But the cruel reality is once his best attributes started to decline you have to wonder as I said above, is it still worth it for him to be playing nearly 50+ games a season as a bonafide starter? the answer for me like Busi is not really, especially if you actually have other Midfielders who are younger who have better attributes than someone like Busi and Rakitic.
