Just force him to arsenal god dammit.

How can you force him? There is no way we can force him. He had offers before from United and apparently Juve and he didn't want to go because his wife wanted to stay in Spain. What's even worse is the fact that he has only one year left so we are in awful position to negotiate.

Barto and Setien can say they dont count on him and that he wont ever play again. Also him being 32 this is probably his last chance to sign a medium long/long contract with a good salary. So he can either stay here riding the bench or go to Arsenal, play more and keep earning lots of money for a few more years compared to 1 year here. Its much better for him long term than running his contract down for another year and then go to Sevilla where he wont earn nearly as much as in Arsenal. His wife would be very stupid to reject Arsenal.

Insane. He would rather sit on bench than go to another top team. Barca is too liked. That's our problem.

No... Barca board is full of idiots! Thats the problem. In other clubs they make money and know how and when to sell the player and here they buy for insane amount of money and then we have problem to sell them at the half of the price. He should have been sold last year, but he is still here, sitting on the bench and doesnt give a shit.

If that PSG offer was real a couple of years back, I mean a big if they should have just sold him there it was bascially the last real chance we could have.

Hard to blame Rakitic at this point, the Club could have possibly sold him for decent money around that time when he still had some good value but didn't and now they are paying for it.

He wouldn’t have moved to Paris though. Raquel would never allow it.

Letting Rakitic leave for free won't be the end of the world. His transfer fee was very low back then.

Problem are his wages. No one wants to pay that + transfer fee, because he simply isn't good enough anymore. That's the main problem with this club. Giving players high salary for past achievements and longterm contracts that end way past their prime.

Same accounts to buying "love" from new players. "It has always been their dream to play for Barcelona". Sure, because Barcelona doubles/triples their salary without a single minute played for the club.

Its the reason we are one of the best clubs in the world. I get the general idea here that high salaries are "very bad", but truth be told they are necessary. But sometimes you get burned, see Umtiti and veterans past their primes.

I think for the 20-21 season, he will either just stay at the club or be loaned out to Sevilla.

I really doubt Sevilla will buy him this summer.

If he leaves I think he'll leave for a symbolic sum of a couple of millions. Sevilla will have to use most of the "regular" transfer fee to afford his salary and I think Barca would accept this.

They will probably just loan him this season. It's the only possible option right now. Problem is he is on a high salary but I wouldn't split that with Sevilla. No way in hell! If they really want him, they need to pay at least his salary. After this season they can sign him for free so it's still a good deal for them.
