@barcastuff: Barcelona and Liverpool will soon meet to discuss a possible deal on the transfer of Uruguayan forward Luis Suarez (27). [sport]

It's getting serious...

Much rather have James for the amount we would spend for Suarez. Plus he would start here, at Madrid he'd have to compete with Bale if they play him on the RW or Di Maria and Isco if they play him as a CM/CAM. Here, he'd only have to beat out Alexis, Pedro and Deulo and it's obvious he is a better player than all three

He has said to the press he prefers rm to Barça. Falcao and James from monaco to rm this summer.

He's pretty bold/rash to immediately pick a side the moment the hype comes in. Which position would he take at RM? He sure as shit isn't good enough to displace Di Maria in midfield and if he were to play on RW they'd have to bench a 100m Galactico in Bale. The only other option I can think of is playing him at false 9 which is a big LOL considering that they've supposedly 'agreed a deal for Falcao'.

I'm surprised he limited himself to only one league and only one team so early and that the team he chose isn't interested in him (for now) and has no room for him. Then again Real Madrid is a fickle club if I've ever seen one and they could go to desperate measures to bring in a shiny new toy after a great WC performance. Di Maria has expressed his displeasure at 'constantly being linked to Tottenham' despite doing his best for the club. If Perez wants Rodriguez and Ancelotti doesn't step in then it could very well be that they push out Di Maria to make room for him. After all the Argentine has said himself that he had a great season but "sometimes you don't have a choice".

I think it's based on previous comments no?

Based on Di Maria's slam on Cristiano Ronaldo (might be mistranslated tbh), I suppose that Di Maria may indeed be on his way out of RM, which is BS IMO because he was their best player this season.

I think he's solid. But perhaps it's not a good idea to judge people based on a few World Cup matches. Look at the mighty Alexis in Chile NT.
By the way, Ozil was a Barca fan before he went to RM. Sometimes their personal feelings don't count.
I think our scouts should pay more attention to Columbian players. They played some good tiki-taka in NT. The second goal today is pure-class tiki-taka. I think they should fit in our system well.

Isco too. IIRC he even had a dog named Messi. I wonder if he renamed it.

I think it is mostly hype at this time, after several wonderful performances. Let's judge how good this kid is after he plays a full season in a top league like La Liga. If he wants to join Real Madrid, go join them.

I am not drooling over him, yet.

Big clubs were after him when he was at Porto, Monaco got him for 40 mil Euros. He didn't just produce at the world cup from out of thin air he was always talented.

By the way I saw this on another forum:

C. Ronaldo - 3 World Cups - 3 goals
Messi - 3 World Cups - 5 goals
James Rodriguez - 1 World Cup - 5 goals

WC goals are very nice, but they are not be all and end all.

Of course, but he's performing when his country need him, it says something at least, and at a young age too, an age when Ronaldo wasn't doing shit for Portugal other than diving.

But yeah, James needs to go to a better club, he's absolutely wasted where he is.

He should go to a club where he can play, not to Real where he is just warming up the bench. Better stay at Monaco then.

James for sure (not sure about Falcao).

He is only 23y.o., BIG talent, BIG future. I would spend a lot of money for him.
But we bought Rakitic and we will spend so much money :)cry:) for a 27y.o. psychopath :bruise:

What a management:facepalm:

Seems to me like he is a great talent, but then again he's already 23 (in July I believe)- that's not really that young anymore. He only scored 10 goals in 38 appearances, with 12 assists for Monaco. Let's not forget that although Ligue 1 is entertaining, it's not a top league.

Suarez' scoring record is infinitely better and lets not forget how he also creates and brings his teammates into the game. He also does it in the EPL which no one can argue is a very competitive league. Suarez over Rodriguez isn't even a question to me.

I honestly feel bad for the guy. He seems like a good dude and his teammates all like him. Do you think he honestly WANTS to bite; he looks just as shocked as everyone else when he does it. Probably suffered some kind of awful abuse as a child and acts out biting when he's heavily stressed. He's the type of guy that gets emotional and will cry when his team falls short- do you think he'd actively want to bite someone during the World Cup, on the international stage in front of the whole world, knowing that it will likely ban him from playing and participating? I can't excuse the racist remarks (supposedly, I still think that might have been exaggerated perhaps) or the blocking a shot with his hands- although in that case I think anyone would do that same thing.

We'd be lucky to have Suarez- I'd just hate to lose Sanchez because I'd love to see him playing for us at his true potential.
