James Rodriguez

I disagree.

If anything James has showed so far in Real Madrid to be the better player and far more crucial than tunnel vision Isco is when it comes to build up play.

Obviously it's unfortunate if he's going the wrong way, but considering the Madrid dressing room, media and board breed a false sense of superiority, diva-antics and hype, it's hardly surprising their dressing room is split with certain players going the wrong way.

Before anyone comes up with the example of Ronaldinho, then whatever he did, only took a toll on him and his career. Didn't affect the dressing room with groupings and other dramaqueen antics. He held a good relationship with everyone despite of everything.

Do you have an example of a game where James was amazing in build up play (no golazos, that we know he does from to time to time) ?

I'm serious, Isco holds on to the ball a bit too long, that's his only fault, but that's changing in his last games with ZZ.

James for me is not top 5 in the world, let alone BDO material as they want to sell it in the caverna, and I loved him after the WC like everyone else, and even wanted him to join us, but I'm starting to see that I got caught into the golazos hype.

As a matter of fact, very few RM players show the consistency required to be this overhyped, if he was playing for us, we'll be very disapointed, if we can't handle Messi being "regular" for a couple games or Suarez not scoring in 3 games in a row ... now imagine having the team RM has ... I'd personally wouldn't be opening my mouth for any of them getting the BdO.

Both Isco and James are excellent players. James being the better and more experienced one atm.

James hasn't won all the individual awards he has just for scoring golazos.

Of course everyone has his own opinion.

So here's something interesting for you guys (or RM fans), who'd wager with $100 bucks that James will NEVER win the BdO ? I'm serious :)

So Neymar last season was not great beacuse has only scored goals
What mean just scoring? to win game you need to score and to give assist. So the phrase, "just scoring" has no logical sense.

Exactly. Has the talent but as of now hasn't been that spectacular or consistent to merit such hype.

He has been consistent a lot 18 goals and 17 assists out of position means that was very consistent. Spectacular or not I would say who cares. Is very subjective, for me he is spectacular.

He's an amazing player but I still see him as highly overrated by the madrid media machine.

Still have to see him solve an important game for RM, except for some flashy goals against Almeria or Betis ... I'm not impressed, and zizou is right to bet on Isco who brings more to the build up play.

But yeah, "future ballon d'or" according to Roncero.

scored against Atletico, assist against Barca, man of the match against Atletico in UCl, assist and penalty procured against Juve. It seems to have shown enough and all those things out of position. If he is not good in the big games, what is Isco? Simple useless, in big games and even in most of normal games. Isco also last year played more than james and was for sure worse. Real Madrid with James had 80% of victories, without him 63%. James for me is a special talent, Isco is just another classic short player with great dribbling, but mediocre visione and football intelligente.

Nevermind Isco's contribution in the CL that we won? Goal against Borussia, his defensive contribution against Bayern and his tactical awareness is more than what I can say for any of the BBC. But he dipped in form, and was always the one dropped for Bale for no specific reason even though he was a core player during the 22 win run. I am sure he gets frustrated.

In any case, ISco has some weaknesses but nothing he can't work on with someone like Zidane especially that Zidane knows that Isco is about confidence not skill or talent. I just don't know where he or James fit in a 4 3 3, both are playing out of position and the only thing I can think of is for Isco to modify his game all together and forget that he was once an AM and start learning the role of a CM. I feel like he doesn't like this position but has the ability to Master it.

As for James, he is a pure AM, I hate to see him on the right or as a CM. The problem with James is that he has no position close to the goal, and he doesn't have the agility to run up and down, he is very good at dribbling an opponent close to goal, but he cannot dribble longitudinally for long distances, that is why he will suffer with Real Madrid but it will a lot be easier when Ronaldo departs. I still think Zidane's undoing will be the 433 but who am I to figure out how he can tweak it to suit the players?

The worst thing about Isco is that he holds onto the ball too long near midfield and thats great tactically, but when he is close to the goal, he doesn't let go quick enough, thats catastrophic offensively.

So what's going on with him then? Seen some crappy links with United, don't believe them at all but how I'd love him at Old Trafford.

He is not going anywhere, not until that motorway is complete in Colombia.

You judge the players from the videos of You Tube?

Yep, it's pretty accurate when even the highlights on youtube are shit like in James case, watch the video .. lol Sergi Roberto has better season highlight than JR.

I only don't trust YT vidz when they look too good, doesn't mean the player is great, but if YT vidz look like shit, there's a great chance the player is really bad, I'm sure MadridistaTV did his best to make JR look good ... well, that video is just sad :(

Plus, i've watched JR play with both RM and Colombia so many times, and I maintain, without the Golazos, he's not that talented, I'll take Isco over him any day.
Raed pretty much agree with your posts.
