Honestly it looked like it started going down hill for him ever since he got injured during International break several months back. And the rumors of Benitez not liking his Attitude one bit which left him on the bench for strings of games.

And of course after Benitez was sacked, their were also rumors of him Partying a lot in Madrid. Even with Benitez gone he's still performing sub par.
