Meanwhile:

Javier Tebas: "We didn't let Barcelona sign players this winter, and next summer they won't be able to sign players either."

This is the good guy that only cares the rules being applied uniformly

Wasn't there some rule that allowed us to sign a player or two if we make savings on wages?

He changed the rules in November. He increased the percentage from 0.25 to 0.4. But..
You have to show a proof that you can pay the player for the next 2 years of his contract (if he signed long term) or else registration rejected.

That is why they rejected registration of Gavi, we had cap space but not for next years, Barca went to court and said that such change of rules after Gavi was already signed, harm them. We won and now Liga appeals.

So, by this rules, the selling is actually useless unless we are planning to sign players on 1 year contracts.

The war in Ukraine to end and Tebas to resign (and not be re-elected) are two highlights I'm really looking forward to.

How many years is this without being able to sign? 4, ignoring the astronomical measures of the levers.

Tebas keeps bringing up the Premier, but Barcelona would be a behemoth in that league with their income streams.

This summer Newcastle are earmarking 300m budget, Man UTD 200m, while we have Tebas gloating that the countries top 2 club can't even renew a youth player without court interferral.

Never had strong feelings about people I don't know personally but I'm at the point where strong dislike is not enough to express my opinion about this guy anymore, I'm starting to hate him.

Funny how one pig and piece of shit can influence spanish football, like he is god.

Clubs need to make pact and delay playing until this idiot and his ideas are out from spain.

"The conditions imposed by Javier Tebas and the League on the limit of the salary mass and the margin for new signings are forcing Bar?a to choose to renew players who had initially finished their cycle at the Camp Nou. This is the case of Sergi Roberto, who signed the extension this Friday, and it could be that of Sergio Busquets. Everything also points to the continuity of Jordi Alba, with a contract until 2024"

Imagine having to keep your biggest contracts to reduce the salary cap

Win the league and all of this becomes trivia stuff, and Tebas can fuck off. This La Liga title, can't stress how important it is. Probably most important since I can remember. Since 2005 title probably.

Fuck it up and Barca is gonna take a bit hit.

It's the most important league since the first one under rijkaard, except situations are much much worst now.

No doubt. Whole league is basically giving us nothing to hang on to. Had to sell assets to stay afloat and compete. Can't remember a similar situation. We need to win a big title to make all of that struggle seem worth it, and forge winners out of these youngsters.

Even more important. The 2005 title had R10 and Eto'o in their prime.

If we win, we're basically winning this title with some promising young players and a geriatric CF against reigning european champs

Yep. The only way 2005 comes close is the fact that Ronnie and Eto'o were not at peak and just arriving on the elite stage. That was the season when they established themselves as world beaters.

 Man if this team had Ronaldinho on the left... Eto'o in the center... We'd easily carry Garcia and Alonso as our Oleguer.
