Jean-Clair Todibo

Nothing will change, Koeman wouldn't play him even if he'll stay.

Who cares, we'll probably (hopefully) have a new Board in after the New Year and Koeman will be gone pretty much asap, or in the summer at the latest. After that every player can get a fresh start and a new chance, including Todibo, who deserves it. For me this is the most important thing right now, change the team as little as possible and keep as many current (younger) players so that they are still here when a new direction is taken in 3 to 9 months.

Barto is killing it with these deals.

Reportedly he turned Fulham down.
They offered us 18M.

That's good, it means he will officially still be our player once the new Board comes in. if he has a solid 1st season with Benfica, I could see him coming back after the 1st year already. Hopefully the new Board still see Todibo in the club's plans, like I do. So I'm very happy he wasn't permanently sold! Need to keep as many (younger) current players in the team or at most just loan them out, so that they'll be able to come back and get a fresh start under a new Board with trust instilled in them. Hopefully the 2nd round of the vote of no confidence goes through and that we have new elections in November instead of March. It would mean this transfer window was Barto's last chance to do anything more stupid and screw us even more. He already did more than enough even this summer with the Arthur-Pjanic swap, not to mention all the disasters in previous years. Luckily players like Puig, Dembele and Todibo refused to leave (permanently) and didn't give Barto the chance to cash in on them. He can cover the 800M debt all by himself, hopefully with working it off in jail until he pays it off.

If he'll be any good for Benfica he won't come back. If he won't be then he won't be good enough for us as well and we'll probably need to sell for less than 20m.

Also, you have too high hopes for a new board. If that idiot Font will be elected we'll probably miss Bartomeu in a year or two.

It's quite the opposite. If he has a great season they will sign him for 20 mil if not he will come back. I sincerely doubt he will have a great season as I see nothing special in this kid. This guy has played barely 25 games so far in his career so I can't understand where this optimism comes from?

Couldn?t we find a team where he would be a starter? He will be 4th choice there while he needs to play to improve.

We don't care about his improvement, the club has given up on him. They'll surely give him a chance to see if he's worth investing 20m into in two years and possibly sell him for profit.

They have an option to sign him but Todibo would presumebly have the choice to sign that option or not.

I would expect that he has agreed to the loan and not to the transfer should Benfica act on the clause. But who knows.
