We just have to admit that when the opponent puts pressure on our backline, Mathieu is not the one you'd want to see trying to deal with that pressure. Sevilla, Villareal, these are the wrong teams for him, especially away from home, where they are twice as daring.

He's good if he plays alongside Pique who can build up attacks from the backline. Not so much when paired with Masche.

Overall I think he's almost always playing good when he starts but is not at his best when he's subbed on in second half. Maybe his old bones need more time to get ready or something.

Not much rest for Masche, Pique and Alba for the rest of the season then. Could get complicated. Bartra and Vermaelen having a bad season and can't be relied on.

Good part is that if we win the Clasico we are 99% champions. We can afford to play Bartra and Vermaelen in the league.

There is also Bob, and we might not have much of a choice unfortunately.
