Joan Laporta

Laporta is such a sneaky and nasty character. No doubt his team have been leaking stories about Koeman's sacking for weeks to the media to try and force him out, but at the end of it, they couldn't get rid of him because of the termination fee as many of us predicted on here. He probably hoped Koeman would resign from all the pressure being put on him.

Typical Laporta again. No real plan

Laportameu has absolutely no clue, no leadership and no decision making.

He'd rather watch this club sink than make important decisions.

I think the main problem is the 12m termination restricted us but Laporta not honest about that for a few months and preferred to leak to the press to force Koeman out

We are in an awful situation. We can’t afford to fire Koeman and we also have no good option if we do fire him. Any new coach is going to want a massive contract.

At this point too 4 is the real goal. Scrape through the season and hopefully find a new coach then.

, Laporta?s campaign manager: ?With all due respect to Xavi and the other names that have appeared so far, Ten Hag is the first coach whose quality, experience and history I feel is enough to take responsibility for the first team in the midst of the crisis.?

That's massive!!!
That's not a leak mind you
It's a straight statement, coming from Laporta's entourage...

And it's saying WHO the coach that Laporta prioritizes is!
That's music to my ears,
it means that Laporta might actually be smarter than what we think-> he might be paving the way for Ten Haag already to come in the summer!!

 Ten Hag is another bet, except he has more experience, albeit not at a club anywhere near Barca's ambitions. You'd say Ten Hag is some Klopp when you hear these dudes talk.

All names being mentioned are bets. To get someone with enough pedigree (style-wise aside, speaking only about managerial status), you'd have to start at Antonio Conte and go up from there.

No,
you are terribly wrong here.

He almost reached CL final with Ajax.
That's not only experience, it's massive achievement
Let's not talk also about the football he played, which is among the best in Europe

That's not a bet, that's a calculated appointment of the best free candidate.
The only ones that can be said to be better with evidence are 4-5 coaches under contract in England or Bayern or elsewhere

Yeah, a one off. Let's get Javier Jardim, ex Monaco. He made CL semis too. Or Rudy Garcia, ex Lyon.

One-off? Ok, you are deluded if you think that.

Monaco or Lyon or whoever else has made CL semis by sitting back and counter.
Panathinaikos has won like that in a CL semi against the great Ajax of LVG.
So what?

Ten Haag reached Cl semis by going out and attacking, pressing high, playing in other words like a big team.
And Ajax qualified by bossing like that BOTH juve and madrid AWAY from home.
Good luck finding another not top club that has reached even a semi playing like that.

Then, he is winning Eredivise every year by demolishing all opponents scoring 5 and 6 goals
And he still plays fantastic football in CL every year, even losing every year his best players to top clubs (De Jong, De Ligt, Ziyec, etc)
going out of the competition only when facing teams with 100 times the budget Ajax has
