I hope our board considers him to replace Suarez if Benfica asks for a resonable fee for him.

I also like him but the problem is that he looks like to be a second striker or a number 10. Looks to be best in Messi's position. His finishing and runs in behind defence give the impression that he would be able to play like a 9.

Benfica are already planning to increase his buyout to 200M. I don't think he'll cost less than 100M, considering the hype.

Interesting indeed if true but doesn't mean much.

Anyway, I'm wondering if a few weeks ago when Bartomeu was in Lisbon talking with Benfica's president (apparently about Jović whose rights they still owe) he was really there for Joao Felix and then he used media to create interest in Jović (who I don't doubt we were also interested in but maybe not as much as MD said) while we were secretly negotiating and possibly even make some preliminary agreement for Felix. Now MD is saying we are not after Jović anymore so we can assume Felix is a done deal but this won't be announced before the end of the season. Not very likely but GOATomeu is an old fox and who knows what his plans are.

As I said a few times already I don't see Felix as a pure "9" (for now at least) which we should be targeting as Suarez's replacement but there is no doubt he's talented and maybe the club thinks he can develop into that role in a year or two. In the meantime while Suarez is still here we could use his versatility to get him more playing time as he could probably easy play in any of the forward positions. In the end it all depends on Benfica's asking price. 120M is too much but if we can get him for 70-80M I would be ok with that. We can also include 30 or even 50M Balon D'or clause for all I care because if this kid will ever become a top 3 player in the world he will be easily worth 100M+.
