I think Koeman is turning us into a bit of hoof ball team so I doubt Stones suits Koeman's style. Williams is far more suitable. I think Stones will be a star under Pep and he should be grateful Everton held him back from signing for Chelsea last season as Pep's style will suit him far more.
That said it's definitely not guaranteed he will go on a be that star and this transfer basically offloads the risk on to City of him turning out to be not that good after all.

You can't judge him as mediocre as he's only a kid who's been playing in a shockingly bad Everton team whose defence where under pressure most of the time .He will be a different player when he's not doing as much defending.
I think he'll be a better player than both Pique and Rio Ferdinand tbh

Most of his blunders were not when he was under pressure actually. He got a loooooooong way to go before even getting compared to Rio Ferdinand. Let alone surpass him. Pique's in another dimension too compared to Stones.

Stones has played two games for City and is already looking something like his old confident self .
He's never gonna be a lion-hearted stopper like Puyol BUT he could easily develop into one of THE best ball playing , technical CBs ... There's even talk about Pep converting him into a sweeper eventually ...or playing the Busq role albeit slightly deeper .
