I'm a little a surprised Pep didn't try to get Eric Dier to play a kind of Busquets role in City's midfield.
He is using Fernandinho in that role.. But he should get someone better..
Yeah, quote-digging is fun.
Quite the deal that, eh?

Except of course that my post has no significance . It was just stating a fact , that City had just bought Mangala . I made no other comments as I wasn't aware of the player at the time . I just knew that he was someone our guys were looking very closely at and that's why I posted the deal .
For just £32m clearly indicates that you thought it a bargain.
Hindsight is 20/20. We'll see about Stones - great talent no doubt, but considering how error prone his last season was, I can't shake the feeling that nationality and media hype has inflated his price beyond reason.
Well I've already explained that I had no knowledge of the player AT ALL .. so I had no opinions on his true value.
The JUST part was there as there had been rumours that we had been looking at getting him for £55 million ...

Well it has, but that doesn't mean he won't be a good player. He's certainly better than Pique was before Pep got a hold of him. That's not to say that he will be better or even as good, but to write-off someone his age based on one poor season in a side that couldn't defend is crazy.
What are you basing him being better than Pique on?
Pique was behind probably the best CB partnership in world at Man U. Stones would not have broken that either.
Pique was a calamity for United when he was given chances.
Never got a run of games though and if behind a partnership he couldnt break Stones could easily been the same.
Pique was a calamity for United when he was given chances. He was fourth choice behind Jonny Evans and Ferguson didn't even want him.
