Jordi Alba

Really? The foul itself was fairly harsh, and if Ibra indeed did pinch him (it honestly looked that way), I think his reaction was warranted.

Could be, it's just my interpretation. I don't think the foul was that harsh (it looks to me like there was slight contact... or maybe even no contact at all), and I don't see where Ibra pinched him or whatever. I can see him put his hand on his neck, but I don't see him squeezing or pinching him. Ibra has an attitude, too, so it's only normal to presume he'd done something provoking, it could be, but I don't see it from this angle. I do know, however, that if the foul was indeed as bad as Alba's reaction made it out to be, Alba wouldn't have been running half a minute later. He reacted like his ankle was broken. But we're used to that from him.

At 0:09 in the vid I posted I don't see how Alba can be faking that reaction. It's too "sudden" for lack of a better word. Alba just "jumps" like guys do after some sharp pain. Zlatan (blackbelt in taekwondo) must have pinched a nerve in Alba's neck. That's what I think anyway...

Sure, it's debatable, but I even though I don't buy Youngie's theory about Ibra trying to five finger death punch Alba in the neck, his reaction seems suitable sharp, as to indicate that something other than a lovers caress indeed did happen. But sure, it's what you and I read into it. Ibra's a prick and Alba has a history of theatrics, so yeah...

Jordi Alba was the Barcelona player who ran most during the game against PSG yesterday: 11 kilometres, and 739 metres #fcblive [via @dsaura]

He has proved himself to be quite a good defender, especially in recent weeks when he has had to restrict his forward runs more. He bailed us out a couple of times against PSG with his pace covering the centre backs.

I agree. I love how efficient he is and how well he did even in these recent games when he stayed in defense much more. He's proven to be a better defender than Alves on numerous occasions. And to think how bad of an opinion everyone had about his defending prior to his arrival... Having said that, though, I must admit I'm kinda bummed to see him so much in defense, as his attacking contributions are immense and his runs and involvement forward are just a joy to watch. I'd prefer it if our RB was the one playing more conservatively, so that Alba could have more freedom to go forward. As far as I am concerned, he is both a better defender and a better attacker than Alves. And far more consistent. I don't remember a single bad game of his in a Barca shirt. Alba+Montoya, make it happen.

Ye Montoya and Alba will provide us with a really good balance when they are both starting regularly. Alba is better going forward but Montoya is pretty good when he gets forward also. Montoya's defensive stability with Alba bombing forward is obviously the main attraction of the prospect though.

I like jordi a lot, but that gif is no great advertisement for the stoic manliness of football players.
