Jordi Alba

Barçapocalypse NOW!
I'm not sure what the hell he was supposed to do there on his second yellow, the guy passed it and ran right into him, it was a terrible call. Alba did make quite a few sloppy mistakes but he also had some good moments as well. Poor performance, but not an absolutely terrible one like you guys are suggesting.

All three goals came from poor defending in the left flank... Obviously, some others are to blame there (mainly Busquets), but his defending was dreadful...

In their first goal he was defending in midfield so Pedro had to take his place, leaving the defense unbalanced.
In the second goal how he starts running at their winger allowing him to run behind his back and make a cross, that was amateurish defending right there.
And third was huge cluster of fuck that doesn't deserve any analysis, hahaha...

This. A lot of players were below average but the descriptions I read in here made it seem as though Alba grabbed a ref by the neck and choked him out or something. Strange reactions in here, but I guess it's to be expected with a loss at home after so long.

Would trade him for Alaba any day, all day.

Sure since Alaba is probably the best LB for years now...

Alba is okay for us at least compared to other players who are starters and got to have many fans artificially...

Lots have teams have tried to exploit Alba and this is just the the latest example.

Bayern did it last year and teams did it to Spain last summer.

He leaves far too much room in behind and makes too many mindless runs forward.

Alves although not the best defender in the world understands the balance of attack and defence much better than Alba.

City will target him with Navas, can guarantee it.

He did a lot better of a job of balancing his defensive and attacking duties against AC Milan last year in the 4-0. But I guess we'll see what happens.

Still top 2 best LB in the world

:coffee:

Then again there aren't very many good fullbacks in the game these days. Lahm, Alves, Alaba, Zabaleta, and Alba are the only world class fullbacks I can think of at the time. But then again, I'm probably not thinking hard enough.

Aly Cissokho man, just ask any Liverpool fan how they're dying to have him on a permanent deal.

It's not all Alba's fault you have to understand he is not attacking non-stop on his own will it's his command (Tata recently said he likes to attack all the time with both backs) When left to his own devices he is pretty solid at the back and does a good job of balanced contribution. I think Tata has to try a new tactic that involves a more restrained Alba with measured less predictable attack versus cascading attack that can be predicted and exploited.

It's no coincidence when he was out for 8 weeks we won all our games :) Now that we have both Dani and Alba playing all the big games we drop points in 3 of the last 4 la liga games. Maybe just a coincidence or the fact that our midfielders are confused when the full backs will push up while Adriano provided stability and only pushed up on random occasions.
