He is a really good player but I don't support this signing at all. We have Adriano and he's been great for us imo and he doesn't mind being a squad player. We shipped out Maxwell but Jordi Alba is too good and too young to be our Maxwell, and he is nowhere near defensively sound enough to be our defensive primary LB. We need an Abidal type player to replace Abidal, tall, fast and a great defensive all around player. We will always be at our best when we have Dani Alves (or Dani Alves type player) on one side and a defensive power house on the other side to compliment him. It makes it much easier for our DM to cover the center of the pitch and watch our attacking full backs side as well.

The only way I'd want Alba is if we sold Adriano, and I don't want that to happen.

Hhhhmmmm... This could turn out to be either a huge success or terrible mishap... Considering our front line is rather crowded (for next season and without injuries) I don't think he will be deployed as a winger, so he would be fighting for the LB spot where his defensive qualities are a little suspect. Considering he spent some time in our academy (right?) he could adjust but it still remains to be seen... The height is the other issue, unless Piqué finds himself again, we have no anti aerial towers which could prove disastrous for us, especially in CL...
