1- how many times you v seen alves providing those kind of solutions by making a run at the edge of the box .. poor decision indeed.. where did the goal come from ?

2- name an affordable Lb better

3- if you were our sport director and had a budget of 60M..with all of our problems.. would start with an LB ?

1- Dani Alves isn't the topic here. He was in interesting positions inside the box a lot of times against Valencia, he got 1 assist and ruined the rest of opportunities because he can't shoot, he decided to cut inside or he went for a stupid solution like the image shows. That's fact.

2- That isn't the topic again. Last 2 seasons he was more than okay, but that's what a player becomes when he's "competing" with the likes of Adriano. He knows he's a starter no matter what happens, and that's not a good situation for any player. I would like the board to bring a player that could make compete again and fight for his spot.

3- And you are off topic, again and again. Having others issues in the starting XI doesn't mean Alba's poor level this year isn't one.

I think the idea that players get complacent without competition is over played.

Alba puts in a great shift and lots of effort his short comings are techincal ones in the final third or defending. That wont improve through competition and he isnt complacent.

Look at Marcelo, probably best left back in world this season, what competition does he have? The vast majority of top performing players dont have any worries about losing their place. That is not their motivation.

Did you not describe the GK situation as 'a mess' with two players fighting for one position?

Keepers' situation is completely different. 10 years difference between Bravo and ter Stegen, let's say same level. We should be thinking about the clubs benefits, which isn't only winning the league in a month or next year.
We can talk about it in one of the keepers' threads.

Same reason that makes me sick regarding the Grimaldo/Adriano situation.

Dont think keepers situation is all that different. You wanted Ter Stegen as No.1 with no serious competition from a player like Bravo. Which by your reckoning mean less competition from Ter Stegen and poorer performances.

Alba doesnt lack motivation at all and he is not playing poorly as no competition. Plenty of players have proved the idea of competition being essential as just a myth.

I don't want ter Stegen to be benched because the starter isn't better than him.
Just as I wouldn't want Alba to be benched if the starter is a random Adriano.
We all know our squad depth makes that we have a clear Gala XI. When one of the starters in underperforming for a long time he needs a wake up call. This isn't Adriano, this isn't Vermalen for the CBs and this definitely isn't Munir and Sandro for MSN.

Jefecito .. i brought up the case of alves because i assume you want to reinforce our left back position .. well even tho it's not directly related to Alba but we can't buy 5 or 6 players .. that's why i asked you the question , you say Alba is playing bad , that's your opinion even tho i disagree , but if you are limited to bring in like only 2 players or three , would one of them be a competition to Alba ? because in my case i would splash the money on a reliable right back , a back up striker , and if the budget allows it , i would go for a midfilder to rejuvenate our " thirties " years old midfield

You are off topic agaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin

Basically, you're just a different kind of fanboy yourself, so it's Alba, Neymar for now, anything negative in their thread and you jump at Messi Alves, going totally off topic in your bashing spree, over and over and over again.

As I said, trooooooooll :troll:

decision making of a 5 year old

There was no decision made there.

I'm a keeper but I've found myself in those positions when playing outfield. You literally just send a cross to somewhere and pray someone does something good with it. Lol.

Why a professional is so panicked and incapable of using his head in any way is something to be really worried about.

I agree with that. But I also think that Alba would play better if he could rest more during the season. And for that to happen we should have a better choice on the bench than Adriano (if he's even healthy), Mathieu (I like him as CB but not so much as LB) or Roberto (for all his versatility LB is the only position where he didn't convince me). That's why I think LB should be one of our top 3 priorities in summer, but at the same time I wouldn't pay 30M+ for that position.

If you look at the gif, it is a whole other situation than the screenshot. Alba can't play it first touch because Neymar is a step behind and Suarez is offside. By the time he got his 2nd touch the zone in front of the goal was packed so he decided for another option.
The 1st touch could have been better and imo Alba should have still passed it into the 6 yard box because a hard and low cross would have been extremely difficult to defend but the screenshot that was previously posted makes it look like Alba missed the easiest pass ever which is not true.

You know that gk's have longer career span than the rest of the field players? Bravo if not injured or for some other reason "drops down" still have many years in him!

Relax, people, now that Guardiola is commin' to City we will be able to aquire old, used up, cheap and party-lover LB... at least he can shoot:
