Jorge Sampaoli

He really needs to keep 3rd place in Liga if he wants his 1st season to be considered a real success story.
Getting out of CL by a far inferior team isn't a successful CL campaign

Agreed. This is serious blemish on him.
I don't want a Barcelona coach who gets knocked out by Leicester.

But underperforming with a talented Athletic squad obviously is.....

On the Bayern forum you were a Bayern fan and said that Barca, Real and Atletico are finished and that Bayern would win the CL easily.

Here you are a Barca fan and have the opposite view.

Time to decide.

Anyone here still interested for having Sampaoli as our next coach?

His Sevilla were knocked out from Round of 16 by Leicester City tonight?

Of course. One game doesn't change the coach he is. And he's a much better coach than Valverde.

Started to have doubts about him over the last few weeks, today only confirmed those.

He's still my prefered choice but I'm just not as high on him anymore than I was.

Disappointing result for him and Sevilla. Just bottled it big time and need to get back at the drawing board to resolve their issues the last few weeks.

But you cannot fucking judge a coach on one game, seriously guys. That said, he will not come to Barcelona anyway, we'll get Valverde for sure or someone else. It's not like we have Pep, Conte, Ancelotti lining up to be our coach. The options were Valverde, Eusebio, Koeman and Sampaoli.

I guess Shakespeare is better than Ranieri now too? Ranieri lost, Shakespeare inspired Leicester to a 2-0 win and a resurgence in the Premier League!

Something I didn't talk about but you for some reason felt the need to bring it.
Before the season (when no one talked about new manager) I thought Sevilla might actually have leaped A.Madrid as Spain's 3rd best team in terms of squad strength. I thought they are that good and with good league coach they will get that place, those were my expectations. And tbh no way would anyone should consider him getting 4th place more than the normal result. Not bad but not spectacular.

As for Valverde,he is 7th with Bilbao,at least 5 of the teams above him in the table have better squads and Sociedad squad is IMO almost as good anyway.I am not sure I really agree that he is under performing. And he has been successful in Bilbao for quit some time. Has good history with them that a normal season can be execused. Sampaoli is called gr8 for 1st half of the season isn't the same. I am not an advocate of Valverde and I still don't get your replay but yeah I think there is a double standards from the fans treating both coaches.

The players let him down imo. Missed far too many great chances in the first leg, missed 2 penalties (I mean those are some really bad penalties from Correa and Nzonzi), Nasri was sent off like a clown that he is... There are limitations in this Sevilla team, we're not talking about Atletico Madrid here.

I'm not judging him on one game but on their trend over the last month or so. Still time for them to get back on the right track but if free fall continues then it will be hard to argue that Sampaoli is still clearly the best choice.

Sevilla haven't been impressive recently tbh, not just today.

Yeah, but even someone like Emery is a better coach than Valverde so it doesn't really say much.

My main choice is Sarri, although I personally still don't mind to have Sampaoli as our coach.

There were more severe 'limitations', as you so euphemistically put it, in Leicester's team.
