This statement isn't perfectly correct, but it should satisfy some parties that could give Mourinho problems for his attitude e.g. it will have all discplinary committees get more lenient on him for that and TBF I'm glad he apologizes to fans of the club that he coaches. And it agrees with philosophy and state of things. Why should he give a toss about apologizing to Cules who will hate him nevertheless? It won't make any difference. Taking a swing and not hitting Fabregas isn't really something to be sorry for and then him and Vilanova went back and forth so TBH all he needed to make sure of is that he gets fans of his own club back on his side instead of splitting the crowd.

That's just analysis of words, words for people who will listen to them just like that, but at least he knows how to try to keep every madridista on club's side and ultimately on his side.

And with that statement bar of any critical conscience (but so were the Madridistas with regards to Marcelo tackle, just a dive, and Tito accident, just funny) you prove that you are surely no pseudo madridista JM eyes.

Vilanova went back and forth? Hold on here, Vilanova only gave Mourinho a slight shove AFTER Mourinho tried to gouge his eye. let's not make this a 'both were as bad as each other' scenario cos that stinks. As for taking a swing at Fabregas, it's ok then as long as he does not connect? Still a disgusting incident.

Abducted? Lol.

stoke,
I know what you mean, but then again slapping someone on the back of the head doesn't make Tito any cleaner despite getting eye poked quite lightly (if it was severe then situation would be more dramatic than it was).

Mou is keeping it clean for himself very well on his ground. All he takes care about is the trust of his supporters, he can't afford to lose it since it's harder to earn.

Tito as guilty as Mou?

It is irritating not to be able to get the point across to some of you guys. I said Tito isn't any cleaner by slapping Mou back in the head just to get some kind of retribution, not that his and Mou's antics are on the same level. Relax.

Yellowmustard, quote instead of throwing something like that up. And quote properly, since as far as I remember I have never said it in such context.

Then just say that...Not "...Tito isn't any cleaner" implying that Tito and Mourinho are just as dirty as one another.

But despite Tito's retaliation, how hard is it to just say "I apologize to all the players, coaches, officials and fans. Things got heated and I lost control for a moment. I shouldn't have. I'm sorry".

Instead, this half-assed apology, with its carefully chosen words, is just more oil on an already very hot fire.

Oh he does, it just wouldn't be taken seriously by anyone. (Edit: If you say so :p)

JonM,
Taking Mourinho's nature into account, his history with Barca and his reputation, would you really expect him to do that?

There was nothing half-assed or careful about his words, they were purposeful and deliberate - He did not believe apologising to Tito or any representative of Barca to be the right thing to do.
