No one is saying he is a better keeper than Iker overall. All this is about is him putting on better performances since January.

Iker has been below par for a few years now... He did pretty well last season, but not anything special. His performances this season haven't been very good either, especially when he seemed to concede on every freekick. Maybe he needed the challenge as he's been put on a pedestal both for Madrid (no competition) and Spain (playing due to his captaincy).
Having said that I'm fairly certain that Mou only benched him as a punishment/because of the tension between them. There's no way he'd seriously rate Adán above Casillas, despite all our trolling efforts

He has played well since he came in, AND we don't see them at training...who knows how Iker has been performing.
Would Mourinho bench Iker, even giving the goings on, IF he was playing better. Is he so vindictive and twisted?

Imagine what a keeper or player of Iker's stature at Barcelona would have to do in order to get benched and then buy an alternate...How poor would someone have to be playing to have the most successful goalkeeper & Captain, perhaps of all time, to be benched?...It's absurd to even debate it, the move had nothing to do with sporting reasons - not ultimately...Obviously, Casillas broke his hand, err his teammate broke it but Mou has made it clear this was a power move and only the oblivious would argue otherwise

Ah. Didn't read the full press conference really. And I fully agree anyway, Iker has been going downhill for a while now with zero competition and getting a holy cow stature. Power move by Mou or not some idiots come and say benching Iker over a keeper who is performing better than him is insane. Just how stupid can you get?

Pepe might be a "thug" but how is Ramos a thug? For being a winner and giving everything and a bit more for the shirt? You do realize that this kind of never-die attitude has been one of the many great attributes of Ramos since his Sevilla days?
He has had his outbursts like many other defenders but that does not make him a thug. Nor comparable to Pepe who also adds a great deal of diving to his reputation.
