Josep Maria Bartomeu

Messi has himself said that Neymar and Suarez are up there as his best front line at Barca and he is clearly enjoying himself on the pitch.

He never would have go those two under Laporta or the other candidates.

Messi should be delighted with the team surrounding him and that out weighs everything else. He wont want to leave I dont think.

What if Messi himself decides to leave because Bartomeu was reelected? Way more likely imo.

Why? I don't think Messi'd do that. I worry only because of the poll made under rosell.
I fear they might unsettle him, to make it seem Messi is the one who wants to leave, to finance espai Barça. Unless some investors appear, there's no money for that now.

And this is based on what exactly? Bringing a player in depends on three things primarily: interest in the player, interest from the player and available funds. And it's not as if the president himself donates the money for transfers. And we didn't exactly pay peanuts for Neymar and Suarez, so that one could say that the president made it happen. If we want a player, have enough money to pay the asking price, and the player himself wants to come, it's makes much less difference who's president.

Bartomeu has proven he's capable of getting big deals done. He even said himself, he wants to make Barca the "Apple" of football. He values winning over everything.

There's no doubt, he has larceny in his blood though but maybe the club needs that with all the oil money in football nowadays. We may not like him but he has appeared to be cut-throat when it gets down to business.

Laporta was the only candidate who had a chance of beating him and it felt like he winging it at times and improvising. His vision for the club going forward wasn't very clear.

I hope he can learn from his mistakes now that he's actually elected.

And hopefully he wasn't bluffing either when he was blabbering about having another sponsor.

Based on the fact that Cruyff who is the adviser to Laporta spoke out openly about being very strongly against Barca signing Neymar and Suarez.

Not only that Laporta made a big point about Barcas 'Perez' attitude to big money signings and those two were by far the biggest of last few years.

So based on Cruyffs philosophy and based on Laporta attack on 'Perez' like signings.

Unless Cruyff and Laporta were speaking bollocks of course.

Have Rakuten already commented on them being the alternative to Qatar?

The majority were 60+ and women. Which says quite well about Barto's election campaign and the control of local newspapers were crucial.

That's what it is.

Incredibly sad that most older believe in everything in magazines.
