How come we have clowns like Segura working for the club? Tiki-taka is the reason what made this club the way it is today and this guy is literally trying to fuck up the entire system with his Premier league shit ideals.

Promoted a guy in Pep Segura who think the club should sign tall, physical players rather than technical ones.

New Sporting Director of Barca now, and the link between the 1st team and Barca B.

So who is the one in charge of Barca signing? Segura or Robert?

That's the confusing part.

They say Robert has the same role as before, yet it is Segura who is the 'boss' and has taken over the role Zubi once had. Robert reportedly disappointed by this decision too, so I guess Robert will be in charge of making signings, but in the end it's Segura who got the final say. So if Pep Segura doesn't like a player Robert want to sign, that signing is either off or they have to find an agreement of some sort.

Meanwhile, Bakero is touted to take over Pep Segura's job as overseeing Barca B, Juvenil A and Juvenil B.

What's wrong with tall players?
You guys don't like scoring a headed goal to win the UCL?
Or you think that all goals should be scored by foot?

You guys also don't like to see our players dominate in the ayer?

Playing style is a zero-sum game mostly. You can't dominate on all fronts.
In barca technique and vision should rate higher than strength and height.

Is it written anywhere that vision and height can't coexist?
Nobody can dominate on all fronts. True.
But that doesn't mean you give up on all fronts and focus on only one area. That makes you predictable and easy to stop.

Look at Madrid for instance, they can score headers and play a good aerial game. They can play technical with all those midfielders (Modric, Kroos, Isco), they can use Physique (Cr7, Ramos, Varane, casemiro, benzema) pace (cr7, bale)

The same can be said about Bayern

It's just me. I was thinking of something more balanced, something sustainable

Don't think you realize what's being talked about here.

Obviously it can co-exist, but there's a clear difference between the 'English' Style and the 'Dutch'/Total Football Style.

If you focus more on physicality, pace rather than the technical aspect of the game, you'll end up with something else.

Criticism of Pep Segura have been that he's trying to bring an English style/aspect into the club while the other youth teams are holding onto the principles of Cruyff or the technical aspect of the game. This brings a clash of styles. Trying to implement a style that's pretty much failed everywhere for the English NT and players isn't exactly the smartest thing either, especially when Barca B and Juvenil A and B are supposed to develop players for the 1st team that will eventually start playing more like what they're used to.

Players with physicality and technique like Alena( just to point out an example from the youth teams) are great. Players who are physical, but lacking in technique is not so great. It's the latter that is the problem.

I am not saying we focus more on physicality.
I am saying a balanced team is better than a homogeneous team.
We should have all the elements in good proportion.
Sign technical players with a little acceptable height on them for instance. (Kroos instead of Seri) (Suarez instead of Aguerro) (Mendy instead of Guerrero).

They may offer the similar level of technical play (I am not implying these players I mention do) but the taller guy brings more things to the table.

No one has any idea about the style he has tried to implement or what he has tried to change.

Articles rumouring that he wanted to bring in other elements from his time in Liverpool have been blown up to him now wanting to change the whole system towards pace and power of English football.

No words can sum up this guys incompetence. Paulinho was a joke at spurs and yet somehow he's good enough for Barca?!

With a 600m Espai Barca project kicking off next summer, it's going to become very difficult to sign proper players for the next few years.

And surprise, surprise, as feared, they've not managed to sort out a few positions that need renewal or quality depth.

About the talk that height and creativity can't co-exist....... The father of creativity in football, the pioneer of total football, Johan Cruyff himself was not too short!!
