It's not like a shining knight will win the next election either.

The two biggest papers in Catalunya are kissing Barto's ass and when he leaves in 2021, Cardoner will stand and win. And he's arguably even worse.

I know our former players don't want to get into politics, but if there are is a motion of no confidence going through in August or September, some of our former players really should step up instead of staying quiet IMO.

Hmmm, tbh I think that such thing will really damage the club.
The board won't voted out, they are popular there. This is just another problem and disturbance for the club.

As for the former player, there is zero gain for them to do it.

The issue is, everything the board seems to do is to superficially please people. It's like the basic problem of democracy, where there's no long term thinking because everything is done from the point of view of the next election.

Let's say we really did drop the ball and we cannot land any of the big midfield signings this season. The smart thing would be to maybe save the money and use this season to get a couple of cheap young talents (there are other Ceballos' out there). A few signings in the 0-10m range. Get some youth activity kickstarted again and then use the saved up money to go all out next season.

That would be the approach required considering you've dropped the ball big time this year; especially considering you had all season long and then some more to think about what you need to do as the problems are blatant. However, in an environment where Fartomeu and co are all looking over their shoulders for a vote of no confidence and looking to justify things all the time, they will make knee-jerk, stupid signings (aka Paulinho type transfers) that will put us back in the same position next year.

This is the big problem that I see.

Signings like Paulinho would not please anyone though. So that would be a problem for them. If they are smart, they drop signing him right now with a possible vote of no confidence looming.

This guy is James Dolan, he will turn us into the New York Knicks, his luck with the treble just as the elections were being held as screwed us for years to come even if we win la liga this season.

That treble was a curse disguised as a blessing

The man cant even do the finance thing, which he is supposedly great at well, he needed pique to get a shirt sponsor and all our other deals have just been industry average, nothing special. Literally anyone could have done the job he has been doing since he became our president.

All that and now he will now be responsible for the largest financial outlay in the history of the club, only God can help us so he doesn't mess that up too.

Getting 66% would be very unlikely unless you have the likes of Puyol, Valdes, Xavi standing behind it and Messi delaying his contract renewal.

None of that will happen I guess.

Choir boys :p

It's similar to Real Madrid during the 2000's before they got their act together
