I know our former players don't want to get into politics, but if there are is a motion of no confidence going through in August or September, some of our former players really should step up instead of staying quiet IMO.
I can't for this guy's thread to be moved to the Barca Legends section!

Signing Paulinho will be the nail in this guys coffin.
The issue is, everything the board seems to do is to superficially please people. It's like the basic problem of democracy, where there's no long term thinking because everything is done from the point of view of the next election.
Let's say we really did drop the ball and we cannot land any of the big midfield signings this season. The smart thing would be to maybe save the money and use this season to get a couple of cheap young talents (there are other Ceballos' out there). A few signings in the 0-10m range. Get some youth activity kickstarted again and then use the saved up money to go all out next season.
That would be the approach required considering you've dropped the ball big time this year; especially considering you had all season long and then some more to think about what you need to do as the problems are blatant. However, in an environment where Fartomeu and co are all looking over their shoulders for a vote of no confidence and looking to justify things all the time, they will make knee-jerk, stupid signings (aka Paulinho type transfers) that will put us back in the same position next year.
This is the big problem that I see.
