As above - the denial that players, like Kubo, and many others, snubbing Barcelona and taking you to the cleaner's over their wage is a bad happenstance or merely an effect of the player's greed. Which it isn't. So many here like to focus on the cases of Neymar, Griezmann, Rabiot, De Ligt as if this is just textbook toxic player-agent tandem that you're bearing the brunt of. Ever asked yourself why you settle for these targets and Madrid pull deals out of their ass for almost every single target that is being talked about in their context for at least 4 years?
It is a symptom of bad negotiations being a recurring problem since 2014 when you've started to settle for option Bs and Cs, because you continually found it difficult to secure As and didn't know how to convince the parties you want to be the part of your project. Because there isn't one. You had no idea how to entice Kubo, who clearly is motivated to be performing at a level higher than his age, and convince him that you have a plan for him. Which you didn't. And lost him.
It is institutional failure, which reflects badly on you as a business. Hence you end up fidgeting with the books to make Cillessen swaps, can't find suitors for your backups and usually just find yourself lucky that idiots in Liverpool are willing to take scrubs off your hands (since they have a long history of overpaying for just about anyone from Bolasie, through Walcott down to Iwobi).
