How do you know Oscar Garcia will "do a competent job"? Lucho before he joined Barça achieved much more than Oscar Garcia ever has, there is absolutely nothing that suggests Oscar Garcia would be a better coach.

He wasnt being discussed as coach by Barto I dont think, came across as if they were discussing Sporting Director.

There is nothing to suggest that Lucho has done a good job so far. Any games won have been despite of him, not because of him.

I'm convinced Oscar Garcia wouldn't bench Messi and Neymar at the Anoeta. I'm convinced Roura could do a better job than Lucho to be perfectly honest.

Elections?

There is a God.

Unless, of course, the socis vote in Bartomeu again.

Why would they? Barca isn't going to win anything this season. Which would be two season in a row. Barto doesn't have a leg to stand on at this point. It's Laporta's to lose.

I would imagine anyone who was going to be challenging in 2016 will already have plans.

Having plans and executing them are two different things, though. Let's have one hypothetical scenario:

We have this one candidate, let's call him Laporto or sth like that. He is planning for the '16 elections and already has plans on whom to build his team around. Amongst them, there is a sporting director from abroad, let's call him Moncho. Moncho obviously has his demands, like bringing in his assistant or sth like that.

If the elections are to be held in 4 months, things are bound to get complicated for Laporto. He has to negotiate with Moncho (and others) right now. Moncho knows it as well, which gives him a leverage in negotiations and all that. Laporto is the one under pressure to make it all in time, while the current regime does not have such qualms

Also, working out an marketing campaign takes time. Time, which is now cut short to like 30% from before.

Laporta is winning with ease..

Laporta is a deity on the internet, in Barcelona not so much

It's not enough if you're "convinced", what matters is facts. Regardless of whether Lucho has done a good job or not, there is nothing backing up your suggestion of Oscar García being better other than your gut feeling.

You think it was better to hold on until 2016 then?

Emergency elections are nothing new and any candidates would have known it to be a possibility.

If they are not ready to go for the next six months then more fool them.

Hire Garcia and then reevaluate in the summer when bigger names will be available.

The fact is Lucho benched Messi and Neymar at the Anoeta, where we haven't won since 2007 right after the Merengues dropped points to Valencia. Those are the facts. Have you not seen the club play in the last six months? The constant nonsensical formations. The fact he can't communicate with his players.

I don't care if it's Garcia in particular but Lucho needs to go for Barca to have any chance for any trophies. The vibe and atmosphere he has created has been nothing but toxic with his egotistical stubborness and arrogance. (Not sure if stubborness is a word LOL.)

To be honest, I'm not decided on this one.

Even if a new board were to come in, the transfer ban is already there. Which basically renders all reinforcements impossible until summer '16. I don't expect any winter '16 signing to improve the squad significally.

And once the 16/17 season is underway, the newly formed team will need time to settle in. Which is more than likely to resultin another trophyless year. Which in turn makes two of the four years of the new board "wasted".

Given the circumstances, Bartomeu made the best decision possible... for himself.

True.

Laporta presidency campaign in 2003 was based on bringing Koeman/Beckham/Rustu .after being elected 2 of them luckily rejected to come here and he responded well ,club presidents need to be ready for every situation while having a plan too

Laporta has obviously been preparing for early elections in 2015, the chances of it happening have been increasing steadily for months.
