Well, yeah they are but you can never stand still and if he blossoms there to become a top talent and wants to return to Spain one day, might be worth considering.

You seriously asking that? He might be sub in his first game or two(though I reckon he'll probably start straight away), but he'll pretty much start every game we can play him in, he's got abilities our squad as a whole lack so he'll be a definite starter. He's better than every winger we have, he'd never be a bench warmer.

Robinho is no top player...

Anyway, I'd say Silva is better than Mata, but Mata could become just as good.
Mata is less of a playmaker, but is still a decent passer. He's faster than Silva, he's got trickery, he moves well withput the ball and he can score.

No, not as good Silva, but a decent player for certain.

I really think that Valencia have done a pretty good deal, 30m euros is a lot of money. I am not sure that Mata is worth all that monies.

Mata isn't elite at anything, while Silva is an exceptional playmaker. Don't forget Silva is the man who made Aimar expendable at Valencia!

Chelsea would probably be better off with Silva actually, but Mata is still a great addition.
