well alot of the man united fans i know don't know what day they play on and just wait for match of the day, but i'll give them the benefit of the doubt, some things can start of offensive but you change what they mean over time, man u has lost any offensive meaning it ever had. i find man utd easier on the tongue and sentence but wouldn't stop myself from saying man u.
