Juventus seems to be making all sorts of additions this summer to further solidify themselves. I don't mind them winning the CL at all, if we can't. One more good team to prevent Real Madrid and Bayern from winning, I am happy.

they need to keep pogba

Well, if they manage to get good replacements for him, it would be worth it for them imo.

There's plenty of clubs interested in Pogba, so they just need to be able to negotiate or ensure that they get at least 2 good quality players for him.

You have to say Juventus are masters of transfers.

Sold Zidane to real and got Buffon, Thuram and Nedved.

Sold/selling Pogba for an huge wad of cash and basically exchanging him for Pjanic and Higuain. They won't be losing any quality and are getting 2 players that will coast them to another league title and make them genuine competitors for the CL. True Higuain make choke in the final but as been proved he does the business en route to the final or to big games. Which is what Juventus are missing in Europe - in need a striker to smash in the chances they create against the inferior teams and Higuain is that man. Pjanic too is a great player who'll bring something different to Pogba. Less physical but more creative and has more craft on the ball.

Pogba won't been on the bench. It's gonna look something like this.

Buffon
Barzagli-Bonucci-Chiellini
Lichtstiener-Pjanic-Marchisio-Pogba-Alex Sandro
Dybala-Higuain

where's D. Alves ??

are you like Conte and Allegri who are afraid to line up 2 great forwards together despite 3 CBs and a significant midfield line ??

It depends on the opponent, If we expect to dominate we will use Alves, if we don't we will use the safe link in Lichtsteiner.

Barcelona have not seemed to suffer that much in defence with D. Alves in recent years

He has a point though, Alves especially in the last couple of years hasn't been at his best defensively, attacking he's amazing. We don't suffer due to our high possession which limits the opposition to a few chances, if you can replicate that and dominate most games he will be great for you.

Alves i'm still not sure what role he will play with us. It will be interesting to see how Allegri is going to use him and if he will start ahead of Lichsteiner.

They signed Nedved as replacement, had a slower first year.

Buffon + Thuram + Nedved + Salas Flop was much more than how much they got for Zidane...

That was a time them and Milan had like 100 players on their roster ...

Clearly the only team in Italy who has financial power to stay constantly competitive, will probably win another million titles in Italy till someone else shows up.

But still, 90m for Higuain who will be 29 this year seems a bit out of this world anyway, they want to win the CL at all costs, maybe even pushing to keep Pogba?

In that year they also sold Inzaghi to Milan for £30m, Van der Sar to Fulham for £8m and Kovacevic to Lazio for £12m. Meaning they spent player sales plus £35m of their own cash on Buffon, Thuram, Nedved and Salas. Great deal.

Higuaín is over priced but Juventus wouldn't pay it if they were keeping Pogba as they wouldn't spend that money on any player. So considering they have banked Pjanic already and are in need of a striker to bully the smaller teams - in Europe especially - then in that sense its worth it for Higuaín as who else is out there as good or better they can attract?

you got the point

Nobody can think that with Higuain we fill the gap with Barça or Real, but that is not our first goal......we have other steps to do: first of all, starting to beat small teams easily, something that doesn't happen in Europe and rarely in Italy too. That mostly due to the lack of a terrific striker out forward

Exactly which is why it is a great signing. Plus I think in Dybula Juventus have a very special player on their hands who can do the business against top teams.
