Thanx for that, very informative and well documented article about the matter.
yes, good article
the most interesting thing said is that Calciopoli (Faulsepoli) can be understood only knowing the decadence of italian mentality and society. It's not a case if Italy is the country of mafia.
there are lots of other things to say, which make all the stuff simply incredible: but in Italy, it gets reality.
If you know some italian, you'll be scary from certain phone calls.......I mean Inter's phone calls: the only team to call directly the refs. And to say what?
"Let us win the game" ..... "Go to Mr. Moratti's house: there's a gift for you"
there's also a call of refs' chief who called the ref of the incoming Inter-Juventus game, telling him:
"in case of doubt, favour the team below in the rank" ....it was November, but Inter were already 15 points behind Juve.
I have to remember that the ref's chief was indicated as one of the Moggi's men.
These calls were considered "irrilevant" by prosecutors ...... instead, the result of some Juve's games was changed (from defeat to a vicotry) to show that that match was fixed. Yes, you haven't read bad: that 's what happened.
Another interesting fact is that the ref considered the Moggi's man (Mr. De Sanctis) worked 5 times that year in Juve's matches:
there were 3 losses and 2 ties, for a team who a had victory percentage of about 80%, losing 5 times in 2 years.
Lots of other things, that I don't want to pull out again
It's not against Inter....but it's for the reality of things. That article is so biased against Inter, well of course it is because it was written by a milanista.
Reality is not even the truth: it's only the simple happening of the facts
If you don't want to make sure yourself about reality, so you will deny to look in face at the truth
Well you just have to look at Barca transfer ban and make a comparison there, other clubs did the same thing but Barca were the ones punished. It doesn't mean that Barca (or Juve) shouldn't be punished because illegal acts were still committed, but when you're the club chosen to be "made an example of", it's certainly annoying from both the perspective of the club itself and the fans.
Thing is the original ruling had Lazio and Fiorentina relegated too but their appeals were successful... also with the statute of limitations it is hard to prove any of the later findings.
The difference is that Barça did make irregularities.
Juve not at all.
Other clubs did
