He really wasn't needed at Barcelona.

Who's place would he take. He is strong for sure and he is pretty good overall... but I'd take any of our strikers over him anyday.

IMO he's far from being overrated. If Eto'o was to leave, Benzema would've been my top choice to replace him. Zlatan & Villa may be better players, but they're older & can't fulfill the same role that Eto'o does at Barca. If we can land Villa & Keirrison, and make Eto'o sign that damned extension, I don't think we would have anything to worry about. There's been little talk about Keirrison, but not much was said when Kaka signed for Milan or when Eto'o signed for us, and they've been the best at what they do since then. Keirrison has all the attributes of Benzema, and is actually one year younger; in the end we may prove to have a much shrewder buy than Real's Benzema.
