Olympique Lyonnais: Karim Benzema May Go To Manchester United

Bad news for you guys. Benzema might grow up to be a good player, but right now you need a really good player. I predict a trophyless season or two.

They have 2 strikers Rooney and Berbatov as Macheda and Campbell aren't ready yet. So yes at least 1 more striker required plus maybe a winger and a central midfielder.

We need a striker a left winger and a right winger .

left-winger is your priority IMO.

nani, park and welbeck are all right-footed and can play wide. nani I think could become something like a new david beckham on the right with his crossing ability.

you desperately need a left-footed winger, IMO. or at least someone who can excel on the left (ribery or young, really).

There ok against the smaller clubs but to be honest I dont think the elite in europe and think Park is a real threat tonight .

Think we will go for him now he is a good player he had a bad game at Barca but all together he is a top class player.

Aaaah... How many goals did he score for LYON in LIGUE 1 this season?? It's not just the bad game at Barca, it was also the bad game in Lyon, it was also the bad games in the group stages the year before.
He is hugely overrated.
However, at the same time he has a very powerful shot and he's a good predator. Certainly not lethal, he hardly scores enough to do that. The thing with Benzema is that he isn't a bad player at all. However, he just isn't Barca quality. If we think Eto'o is wasteful, then we don't know what we would be in for with Benzema... He's also an arrogant cock. Imo he's 'just another talent', and for sure he has potential because he's young and talented. He wouldn't be good for Barca because he needs babying and time, until he can eventually go potty all by himself... But if he manages to do that - well it's evident in his technique that he has the raw talent. It's just very, very raw.

well park is a workhorse. he's good for certain jobs.

welbeck is 18 and fergie seems to think he'll be amazing, and the old bastard isn't often wrong. physically he's already impressive and still has some growing to do. his dribbling skills are fairly impressive too.

nani may not be a big name but end of the day if he focuses on the game and just getting crosses into the box it doesn't matter who the opponent is or what they think of him. nani is a great crosser of the ball, the problem is if you play him on the left he has the option to faff around doing his "which way" bollocks. play him on the right and tell him to just get crosses in and he could be a VERY potent weapon. like beckham used to be. every time he got the ball he just battered it into the box. it unsettles defenders.

Park OMG so bad. Worse than Fletcher and that's hard for a Manchester United player.

With Tevez likely to leave, I think that Park will be quite important for United actually. Although the absence of Cronaldo does tip the scale away from requiring an extra workhorse to deal with the vacuum Ronaldo creates, the absence of Tevez in turn will impact the need for a worker.

I will be ranted at for this by Red Devil and sorry Man Utd fans this is my opinion but I think Manchester United maybe beginning a slippery slope what with Ferguson leaving soon and sale of key players. I think they will stay on the slope but they will need to make good signings.

I agree with you, every football team has its cycle and perhaps United will soon see the darker side of theirs. Strange that this should be said on the back of a near treble or even quintuple, but...
It's not everyday that a huge club like United gets outmonied by another club. Also, obviously they have the debt concerns to deal with, some crappy owners, and the potential departure of their greatest ever manager. They do have youngsters coming up, but in the Premier League in particular, it's not always the way to go. And they may just start to look out of depth soon. What they do in the transfer market, as Viva said, will be crucial. One thing I'm pretty sure of is that United won't lose their popularity anytime soon, and that is obviously going to help them through tougher times.

what about tosic and that other serbian kid that was signed? i agree man utd are in a big change period especially with fergieson getting so old... i do not understand playing rooney wide at all.. the tactics n the final were horribly wrong.. losing tevez is tough but buying someone who will fit with ronney style is a must, i do not think berba belongs in man utd... and man utd style of play they must get a fast tricky winger. man united fans have been spoiled of late (although so have cules) and i think they may have to suffer for a little while ( cules also know something about suffering... 99-05)

Ribery and diego Milito would have been ideal signings... or even robinho..

getting javier pastore would have been great for them.. i am surprised he did not go

Looks like Benzema is going to go to Man Utd. If they get him they'd still need another decent backup striker and they'd be okay I guess.

Manchester United have a very weakened midfield they will need to fix that. They should sign David Silva and Luka Modric so that they have finesse, passing and crossing ability.
