Some ppl are so fantasized by an underdog achieving glory that they ignore glaring flaws. Atleti has had a miracle season but their strategy is not sustainable enough to be champions consistently like Barcelona. If you watched them this season you would know they struggle heavily against defensive sides. Next season even more sides will park the bus against them as they are the champions.

Not to mention we are not a defensive team like Atletico. Their strategy of winning is by not conceding. Barca plays with flair. So we cant copy Atleti's model.

Whatever happens next year they're going to struggle. D.Costa will be off, Villa will be a year older, Courtois will be back at Chelsea. No way they'll be a force next time around.

Im amazed you concluded this from my post I thought we were talking about styles. No matter what the financials Atletis style is not suitable for Barca.

TV deal is just a small part of the problems of La Liga. The biggest reason is financial mismanagement by the clubs. Building new stadiums(Atleti, Valencia) without selling your old one, taking on a lot of debt. Then the property market of Spain crashed rendering their stadiums useless and them being unable to finish their stadiums and having the taxman on their ass. Not to mention Spain's economy is in the doldrums. Cant expect the fans to pay high prices for tickets like Arsenal.....

Also La Liga is not well advertised like EPL. So they cant get a billion dollar deal like EPL. Atleti/Valencia actually get more than they would under an equal distribution deal. Thats why they voted against redistribution of tv money

yes the system now is set up to keep the deal in favour of the top half of the table but getting a fairer TV deal all round would be great ... Also they need to promote the league alot better. I think this season will show the interest that can be generated by having another team up there with Barca/Real

Funny how PL fans always repeat this to attack other leagues, especially La Liga. The fact of the matter is that English clubs benefit immensely from criminals from Russia and the Gulf bringing stars to the league which make it more marketable (and still being a worse league than La Liga).The money most English clubs spent belong to the people of Russia and the Gulf. Yet PL fans are acting all smug about fairness when corrupt criminals are financing all English clubs.

The biggest problem for Atleti to repeat next year will be that Barca and Madrid will be stronger next year.....
