Same Emery he said we didn't try to buy Verratti? come on now the guy is unreliable in what he says.

It was his home town team, they offered Monaco 180M, he wanted them after they brought Neymar and he himself is a RM fan too not Barca.
We weren't gonna be able to match this deal and Monaco never had a problem selling to a rival as long as it is financially profitable.
If we matched what PSG paid for him then we wouldn't have bought either Coutinho or Dembele, in a hindsight this might sound reasonable but not at that time

I certainly dont think its as clear that we never had a chance of getting him, as some people claim, when numerous reports in France and even his own coach said Mbappe wanted Barca and RM.

We certainly had the money to spend 180m when we spent 310m on Coutinho and Dembele plus other signings.

But this is now history, he's gone, and now we must find a new striker, which certainly wont be easy.

Lyon beat Man City away a few weeks ago. I think the attacks on the league is getting a bit silly.

Are city meant to impress me? They got embarrassed by Wigan last season, As Monaco the season before that, humiliated by Liverpool 3 times in a row.

They're so overhyped it is absurd just as bad as the Pep hype who is also overrated as hell.

This would make sense if Lyon weren't much stronger than Leganes, and had N'Dombele and Houssem Aouar not clearly been the best players on the pitch.

Today I'm tired of even making fun of Ligue 1. To be honest, it's not that bad of a league. They just lack another money team besides PSG to stir things up at the top.

Kylian Mbappé gave an interview to BeIN Sports in the show the slag Luis. The number 7 Parisian evoked the Champions League, his coach Thomas Tuchel and the goals of the PSG:

The Champions League

" To prepare well for the Champions League, we must card in the league , really give it all. I think that's how we will achieve our goals. Many say that the level of Ligue 1 is not good but I'm not of that opinion. There are many teams in Europe dominating their championship. They are copying only on themselves. We have to work on ourselves, give the best of ourselves whatever the team in front of us and that's how we get ready on D-Day . "

Ligue 1

"Do people want us to face like Barça, regularly score 5 or 6 goals in the league? It's a vision that people from foreign championships. But Ligue 1, when you see all the young players who are transferred to the big European clubs, there are many who come from Ligue 1. Ligue 1 is not such a bad championship that people can think . After that (goal scored during the matches) we must progress. We are not perfect, there are matches where we can kill the game but where we prefer to play the possession , to make two three passes in the middle. That's what we have a major axis of progress. I think we will succeed because we want to do it."

Thomas Tuchel

"He's a new coach, we'll have to give him some time and we'll see what he's going to do for us."

The PSG speech that has changed compared to the goals in the Champions League.

"I do not think we need to say that our goal is to win the Champions League. Everyone says it for us already and enough. We do not need to repeat ourselves. And there's a new cycle that starts with a new coach so we're not going to put pressure on everyone right now . There is a new cycle, we will see how it works and we will see how far it goes to see if we can achieve this kind of goal or not."

PSG / Liverpool

"The match against Liverpool came a bit early . When we take stock, we see that Liverpool was much more ready than us physically. It is a huge advantage. We were not all ready to play a match with this high intensity. This may be due to the late return of the players of the World Cup. But I also think they were better."

His defensive withdrawal

Defensive withdrawal? In the World Cup, I did it because there was an organization that made everyone have their place and their role to play . I knew what I had to do, what I could bring. PSG is different and we will have to get used to, I get used to it and we get back into the ranks."

Liverpool has higher intensity because they need it in better league. When you play every week vs Dijon or comparable team, what kind of intensity that teaches you?
