He'll improve. Don't think he'll reach CR or Messi levels though. These guys were scoring 40+ league goals in a competitive Spanish league at their primes.
What I'm interested in seeing is how PSG and Mbappe approach a possible contract extension. Will he commit to a longer contract when talks start next year I'd assume, or will he run his contract down to one year in 2021 and consider his options overseas too.
The plan from PSG has always been to renew both his and Neymar contracts.
The QNB partnership with Neymar is in that vein.
In the Mbappé deal with Monaco, the bonus were linked with an eventual transfer or renewal. PSG is supposed to work out to entend those players contracts in a way it will lessen the annual cost in FFP accounts.
Then, about the french guy that wishes Mbappé to leave our dear Ligue 1 as fast as possible, i wonder if you have any love or respect for your country.
The player himself keeps saying french are good, that we need to have more self confidence and work hard to achieve our high goals. This is being ambitious ! The easy road would be to join the usual teams trusting said trophies (Barca and Real).
People laugh about Ligue 1 level but in the same vein, they wish their talents to leave as soon as possible which, in turn, make the league less good and the other leagues better.
Talk about a vicious cycle.
Being ambitious for PSG is keeping is best elements and finally getting recognition by winning. As evidenced by the quantity of quality players raised in France, the only thing missing is money. Had the other leagues been under such a strict entity like DNCG,before FFP invention, i'm pretty sure Ligue 1 wouldn't be the one called farmer's league. Spain clubs for instance could accumulate several billions of debt. That would have seen dissolved and relegated to amateur level in France.
