You have a point for Romario. For the rest, not so much.
- Ronaldinho showed things in the WC 2002, but it was far from certain what he would become at a top team, because he wasn't playing for one. Contrary to Perez's buys like Becham, like Zidane, like R9, etc
- Neymar was one of the best Brazilian talents, but he has seen nothing of Europe, and his showing with Brazil pre-2013 proved jack-shit about his future trajectory
- Young R9 is even more crazy to mention, because he was so young when he joined us, had played only for PSV in Europe, and the notorious Atlanta 1996 displays came after he was transferred to Barca

You seem to suffer from the disease of retroactively projecting the future into the past, without realizing that when the past was present none of the future was already developed nor guaranteed
And you suffer from the disease of not being consistant with your own logic. Benzema, who came from Ligue 1 and wasn't even a starter for France, is somehow classified as superstar signing by you but Ronaldinho, who came from the same league and was older and significantly more accomplished than Karim, isn't?

The crazy thing is you not thinking R9 was an established superstar when Barcelona signed him. It's like saying Man City made Haaland, only R9 had 10 times the hype and acclaim. Age has nothing to do with it.

It's actually wild that PSG fans are not full time hating on him, even before these comments.

Imagine we spent 180m on a guy, who wanted to leave, and then we basically gave him the keys to the club to do what he wanted with, (along with one of the biggest sports contracts in history) and then he left the year after for free anyway, so he could essentially keep the transfer fee we should have got, for himself in the form of a 120 million signing on fee.

All whilst not delivering the very thing he was bought for 7 years ago, a Champions League trophy.

I'd be fucking livid.

I give it to you about Benzema
Haaland - R9 comparison is not valid at all THO. Nowadays it's much easier not only to spot top talent, but also to track it for many many years. Haaland was a big name in that 'wonderkid pool' even before he went to Salzburg. How old was he back then? 15? His hype before moving to City eventually has been 100 times that of R9 before Barca, untill 1996. Back then, only few scouters had knowledge outside Europe, and most clubs waited for international comps to see players from Latin America. R9 had done wonders for his age, but the percentage of people knowing him was not even close to that of today's

25m a year in wages is just what they are willing to tell you about. Same as Haaland. His official wage is 375k a week, however when you factor in all the subsidaries Haaland is being paid through his wage is thought to be around 865k a week.

Mbappe's people will have noted that. They would have said I'm the best player in the world I want the best contract. He is probably getting closer to the 45m a year that Haaland is.

Of course Marca journalists told us 3 days ago that he was only getting 3m more than Toni Kroos.. Which is what Madrid always do, so people don't question how they are fitting in with FFP ( which they are clearly breaking ) .

Did the same with the Hazard transfer when they said they paid 100m and Chelsea confirmed it was 130m base with a potential of going up to 150m. And of course everyone believed Madrid and keeps telling us about their fake net spend when you question it.

Don't forget Mbappe's €150m bonus for signing for "free". Divide it through his 5 years of contract and you get €30m/y that you can add to his wages. He'll earn at least €50m in total/y. Madrid made a big financial effort with him and they need it to succeed. Time will tell.

Fake news

Chelsea never 'confirmed' anything

The 130 figure is total in GBP (160 EUR) and it is not reported as base value with a number 40 floated as addons by Telegraph few weeks back to make it seem like it's on top when in reality it's included in 130
They never miss a beat making stuff up about RM either. Last year accused club of incorrectly providing data for FFP, based on total conjecture, which has been debunked easily

Nothing changed since the original numbers, 100+60
Been reported by most sources, not even Marca. No need to get knickers in a twist

Mbappe rotted in QSG, desperate to leave, while Madrid made Vini a superstar, developed young core, added Bellingham, and won another CL title. And Mr. Estruch pulls another masterclass of implying Mbappe and his clan have leverage vs. Madrid. As for the rest about Madrid’s financial and possible window dressing, and provided evidence such as “clearly and probably”…. Just fckin lol.

Financial reports are available online. Even if take this Messi tier wages and subsidiaries rhetoric, Madrid unlike Barca can afford it. And you get actual top tier player, instead of pseudo stars such as Coutinho, Dembele or Griezmannnn.

Its not 150. And even if it was, in todays market that is peanuts for the next best thing after Messi and CR7. And even more so, when seeing what kind of donkeys went over 100m.
