I thought that was a rumour?
“Atlético’s bid was the most convincing. The amount was €5.1 million, with a preferential option over two young Atlético players.” --Bartomeu, September 2013.
According to Marca, these players are believed to be Saul and Manquillo. However, Spanish press have also suggested Koke and Oliver Torres.

No offence but what have the German clubs done so well? As in the ones with little money? Bayern are welathy and Dortmund are ot exactly poor and find some great youth products, outside those 2 Germany is much weaker the the premier league. And the standard of football is certainly no better.Which is only fair and good for the league. Will make it even stronger.
And it is awesome how well Bundesliga does with the amount of money the teams get. Especially compared to shitty PL where even the weakest teams have a shitload of money but the standard is football from the 90s.
This is how TV rights money was distributed in the five big European leagues in the 2013-14 season.
Cardiff earned 32.5m euros more than Atleti in TV money
In Spain, the ratio is 1:7.7. In the Premier League, the ratio is 1:1.5. New centralised TV rights contracts have already been signed in France and Italy.
