Barcelona and Real Madrid's top players could move to England in the wake of the Premier League's new television rights deal, La Liga president Javier Tebas has warned Spain's leading clubs. (bbc.co.uk)
And I bet it won't happen anytime soon.

Sure some players like Cesc will be sold. But that has nothing to do with the EPL TV rights.

Till their fears materialize, I just call that BS.

Spain the country has nothing to do with the league. It is just that the league isn't attracting new fans, Barca and Real Madrid are. Valencia, Seville, Deportivo in my opinion, I think, lost fan bases since the early 2000s. I don't have numbers though, I could be wrong.

Villareal and now Atletico, mayyybbeee...most La Liga fans know players through matches against or through the few matches leading to a date with Barca and Real.

Yeah, that's too bad, it is not going to bode well for us in the long term.

But having said that, isn't it true that most of the teams in these top European leagues, besides the elite teams, build their fanbase on the locals only? I mean why would the likes of Valencia, Sevilla etc. be seeing their fanbase shrinking? Fewer fans from their respective locales joining?

Any countries should look at germany and how they developed football fanbases there.

Now maybe it's easier in Germany where people have more money "in general" than, for example, spanish people.

This year is on course to be a record in terms of attendances in La Liga.

Well, to start with, much cheaper and reasonable tickets.

Serie A has approved goal line technology, meanwhile Spain continues to act as if it doesn't exist. They won't fight vs officiating bias.

So Real Madrid grind out a home win today, just like the Sevilla game.

Athletic Bilbao away is the next possible slip up. I know Villarreal are before that but you have to have Real as big favourites at home always.

Rayo up 1-0 against Villarreal. Cheryshev and Vietto coming on now so it'll be immense to shut them out but this would be a big win for Rayo if they can manage it.
