He cleared the ball, and his movement catches the player slightly. There's nothing he or any other player in his position could 've done to avoid contact. It's a diff thing San José milked it, and his teammates played their part to influence referee's decision. The overwhelming sentiment in regards to this incident of both LL fans and the media is in the player's favor.

Btw, Superdeporte.es (valencian-based paper) are being sanctioned by the RFEF for their front cover calling Teixeira a liar.

I wouldn't call it "slightly". Those kind of challenges are dangerous. A red and 1 match ban seems fair to me. The offside goal was scandalous, but not this.
