A "Clasico" at Sevilla's Airport ! haha

According to Sport, the 1st teams from Barça and Real Madrid will both land in Sevilla's airport within a 10min interval, which makes it more than likely that both groups will coincide.

RM is playing in Sevilla, Barça is taking the bus from Sevilla to Cordoba in lack of a direct flight from Barcelona.

I'm guessing Barça and Real are on the loosing end of this no ?
Basically better distribution of the money (less money for the big2), more competitivness from mid-small teams, .. ?

I just hope the overall money involved is at least somewhere near half of what the EPL will be getting

Not sure if this is a good or bad thing for Barca, they probably will get less money but by how much? I wonder what the total deal will be, La Liga should get quite a high number all together.

"Barca and Madrid (who were receiving €150 million per year - three times the amount earned by other clubs in the Primera Division) will no longer be able to sell television rights individually, with a new centralised system spreading the wealth throughout the top flight.

The new deal sees 50 per cent of the share distributed equally between all 20 Liga teams, with the other 50% determined by other criteria, such as league position in the previous five seasons, capacity to generate funds through broadcasting and social relevance.

A good move for the League. Both Barca and Madrid can actually live with it. We need to get up a few more horses back in the title race.

In the short run we will get less but not on the long run.

La Liga desperately needed a different TV rights deal altogether. The current one was damaging for the league as a whole due to the monopoly of FCB and RM. You can only welcome this deal with open arms as a fan of Spanish football. This will strengthen La Liga as a whole and over time make the league even more competitive and thus more attractive for sponsors etc.

From what I know, the total revenue will increase significantly 2 years down the line (when the new deal kicks in) and then even more 6 years from now. It will still be far less than EPL, but the gap will not be as huge. In any case, the Spanish teams can do more with much less money than the English clubs.

This is very good news indeed.

Moreover, I will have to reiterate once again that LFP must move quickly to gain a foothold in the giant (and getting gianter) Chinese market which is still largely untapped.

I think La Liga has the best product, it just needs to market it better and this might be a good first step. We will probably see more 3:00 kickoffs which might also boost attendance as well. The more competitive the league becomes the more they can get with each new deal

It's great for the league. It's criminal how underfunded the smaller teams are. This will only make the visual spectacle better.

I hope the next board can renegociate properly with Nike and the torso sponsor (I hope it's not qatar anymore) and get the same level of money that chelsea, bayern etc are getting, we're being underpaid compared to the other big teams.

Yap, Man.Utd has a huge deal with adidas, something like 75 M per a year for 10 years. Can somebody dig up the kit deals for Barca and RM?
