We did lose vs Atletico last year, but that was a very much superior Atletico and weaker Barca (with Pinto in goal btw).

4-5 days of rest are enough at this level. Real Madrid for example has 2 tough away games back to back, vs Sevilla and Juventus, in 3 days. Teams train hard for being ready in april-may, when titles are won or lost. Lucho did well with rotations and I don't see fatigue being a problem at the team. Neymar and Suarez were pressing at 7-0 against Cordoba, they surely wouldn't have done that if they felt tired. We lost precious points in the league, but not because of fatigue, but because of Lucho's inexperience at this level and our lack of concentration in some minor games.

Spanish media talks too much about too many things. I didn't think RM would giftwrap the title for us. If you did, than that would perfectly explain your pessimism right now. But we are still in control. Leaders, doing well both in offence and defence. Yea, the game against Sevilla was a fuck up that occured at the worst time, but the players surely won't let La Liga slip against Atletico. We will show up with hunger to win and we will give it all against Atletico. And with an attack like that, not scoring a couple of goals on Calderon is not a bet I'd make.

Atlético were better last season indeed while we were an inferior team. Nobody is doubting that. In fact we were unable to defeat Atlético even once in 8 games (!) last season. This season though we have defeated them easily in 3 games so far.

Now since I believe that our club has been put under an evil spell by a Haitian voodou priest hired by RM for the past 2 seasons and with last season fresh in the memory, we are bound to not win at the Estadio Vicente Calderón. I can't see RM losing any points in their 3 remaining games.

An injury to Messi against Bayern München and we are screwed. Or Bayern München kicking us out of the CL. That would destroy our morals completely I am afraid.

Yes, I definitely expected an injury ridden and semi-exhausted RM team to at least lose 2 points in the league before our game against Atlético.

I am afraid that we might end up with just the Copa del Rey title this season. That would be absolutely unbearable. I would likely pick up my first depression and quit football for a while.

Now the icing on the cake would be (aside from Ronaldo beating Messi's record of goals scored in the league), RM winning the league due to a better head to head result (which I thought about instantly after our 2-1 win and even wrote here) and them defeating us in the CL-final (Ronaldo scoring the deciding goal) if Bartofeo was "reelected" and Lucho stepped down.

The constant harassment of Messi and Neymar might force those two out as well.

I see a dark future ahead of us. That voodoo spell will be difficult to escape from.

Seriously, I know you are disappointed by Sevilla result but don't start sounding like a gloryhunter who's in it only for trophies.
We're playing best football in Europe that should account for a lot. Trophies are great but in the end that's not why we're watching Barca.

it's weird. we're playing great atm. have a 2 pt advantage. madrid is 2nd. their defense is letting in goals left and right. YET our fans are acting like we lost the league. jfc atleti is good but we're perfectly capable of beating them.

While trophies are not everything they are crucial and that's what we are all hoping for each season. Another horror season result wise coupled with RM success would be too much.

We are FCB not Rayo Vallecano.

I don´t know if Leo_Messi is serious or not.

Not fully serious I have to admit. I feel that it is my obligation to do a bit of jinxing on a day like today. Sevilla or rather Emery pretty much ruined my night. Going out later will likely help my mood.

Serious question though, all rivalry apart, do you really find this RM impressive ?
Because I don't, they scraped through CL 1/4, they scrapped through CL 1/8, they scrapped through Sevilla (they were not the better team except for finishing), they concede many goals while playing ridiculously defensive.. I honestly fail to be impressed, we're in a much better form, we already proved we can win at Calderon, so anything less than 3pts there is an upset, a slipp, because on paper everything indicates that we probably will win.

I guess our game wednesday will answer a lot of question about but I really believe we're favourites no matter the opponent, I mean come on, the Don gave an assist in the league today, isn't that a sign ? haha

Yes, I still consider RM to be the team to beat. They are reigning CL champions with IMO the best squad out there and manager. Especially in the CL. They were imperial in the first part of the season (winning 22 straight games) and now they look very solid again. 5 wins in a row too.

I can't go up to that level sorry.

So RM are not reigning CL champions, they did not win 22 straight games earlier this season, they don't have one of the most capable if not the most capable manager in terms of CL football and one of the best squads if not the best one?

I don't see anything controversial about what I have stated above. RM are not only our main rivals in the league this season but also in the CL. I rate RM higher than I rate Bayern and they showed that too last season.

And if we are to be honest then RM were the slightly better team overall in our 2 head to head matches so far this season. Overall that is.

Me 2.

As I said before, Real Madrid are the only side on the planet that can have us on back foot for extended periods of the game. Bayern have been somewhat underwhelming for the past 2 seasons or so. 12/13 was a one-off. Really, before their treble season, no one really considered them as one of the really great European sides for more or less a decade. And don't give me that "CL-finals" BS.

Just another game. Disappointing result for us, but kudos to Cristiano, he earned his salt tonight judging by the score-sheet as I did not watch a second of their game.
